If married, (Or had been married) have you ever seriously contemplated divorce?

I am twice divorced--once from an adulterous woman, and the second time from one who CONSTANTLY criticized me. I have no idea what murder has to do with divorce. Are you asking if we have murdered or considered murdering a spouse? Does wishing one dead count?

I joined some fathers rights groups at the start, which I dropped because it was full of vengeance, I remember one guy telling me if he just killed his wife he would have got about 10 years and would have been out at the time he was talking to me. Horrible thought but some men are driven to think like this. Divorce is a terrible thing, especially when kids are involved.

That is a running Baptist joke, esp for preachers - churches that do not believe in divorced pasors. In theory a church would forgive and call you to be pastor if you murdered* your wife, - divorce her - that is the unpardonable sin.

    * Same goes for drug abuse, alcoholic, ect

I was watching a video clip of Ruth Graham. She stated she had never considered divorce, but she had considered murder. Probably joking....:D

nope, wished several times, but never actually seriously considered it. Our marriage was really bad for 10 years, before we were saved.

We've been married 32+years. Had plenty of tough times, but never considered divorce. We both made a commitment, not a preference.

Let me add... And it's all by the grace of God - to Him be all the glory!

This is not my first marriage. In my first marriage, I never considered divorce. That was, until I came home one day and found another man in my bed with my wife. Even then, I gave her over a year to return to the marriage. That was a long time ago. I've been happily married to the same wonderful woman now for over 5 years. Divorce hasn't even come close to entering my mind. It hasn't entered hers either. I'm sure she's thought about runnign me over once or twice.

madre and I celebrated our 30th anniversary on December 13th. We made a promise - for better or worse; richer or poorer; in sickness and in health. After 30 years I can say without reservation we've had all six. Never did we contemplate facing any of life's struggles apart. So that leaves till death us do part. It will come in its own time.

Pocadots and I recently celebrated 15 years of marriage. He says it's 30 years (15 for him and 15 for me.) I am blessed with a good man and a good marriage. I couldn't divorce him--he's the only one brave enough to put up with me!

I know from personal experience that Christians will more often forgive most anything except divorce.

Deacons in two different churches wanted me removed as the song leader because of being divorced. When I applied to be a counselor at a Christian summer youth camp, I was rejected simply because I was divorced. I was told that I might talk to the kids about my divorce. I tried to tell the teenage boy who interviewed me that I wouldn't talk to children about my divorce--that it's none of their business. His reply was, "You might."
