I had only briefly heard of them before joining the BB. Now I'm intrigued. What do you like about them and their music?

I am not typically into much CCM. I am impressed with them because their entire ministry is Christ centered.

I think you hit on it with "ministry." Their lead singer is still a youth minister. I think it keeps him grounded, accountable, and (especially) humble...all successful artists (no matter what the genre) should be so blessed to be kept that way.

It's kind of like I am with guest speakers...I'd rather use a minister than a traveling evangelist. More often, I seem to have less to worry about...and there's a "track record" to check up on.

I love Casting Crowns. If you ever get the chance to see them in concert, do it. The Gospel is presented and it is worship and not just entertainment.

They way they put it is that Casting Crowns is not the only thing they do; it is something that is part time for them. They work in their church doing ministry and do Casting Crowns two or three days a week. They stress that their music is for God, and that they want to use it for His glory and kingdom.

Oh, and their songs are great! My wife has everything they have put out, and her mom (who does not like contempory Christian music) loves them too. Having heard their songs, seen them in concert, and heard their testimonies, I would not hesitate to welcome them into our church.

I believe they are one of the best current groups, although I will admit I like the older CCM music better.

As others have mentioned...their ministry. Also, they remind me of a band I used to listen to...Nickelback. I think that their talent has the ability to reach many young people who might otherwise be turned off by Christian music.

That's one of their best cd's. Their new one is great too though. Their songs are totally God centered and God glorifying. It's not just "music", it's the lyrics that make their songs special.

And I'm 50 years old and I'm not too old for them!

Its great music with a great purpose.

Praise God...they are one of multitudes of groups doing it for Jesus.

I was given the "Live from Atlanta" CD/DVD set a while back. It has Mark Hall's (lead singer) testamony on it. I loved their music before that, but was extremely impressed by his testamony.
