What a few members of the Board have failed to understand about the elation of the Republican's, the Christian Right, Independents, and the Tea Party movement, etc., is, that Brown represented the probability that the current health-care bill could finally be stopped from being "forced down our throats!"

I don't support abortionist, and pro-abortionist politicians, however, Brown represented that all important 41st filibuster vote. His victory meant the Democratics lost their majority vote. And, it means we, as a nation can have more input into getting a health-care reform bill that doesn't steal from those who have a good plan in order to give to those who have no plan.

I support changes in our current health-care system. Health-care for those who want it, but, can't afford it, should be made available. But not at the expense of those who have good plans.

A bare bones plan, something like Medicaid or Medicare, should be made available [at a fair cost] to everyone without a plan, should they need and desire a plan. This is not entitlement, just a safety net for the less fortunate in our great nation.

I knew very little about Brown, but, what I did know, was, that through prayer, to protect my Cadillac" plan, I saw Brown as an answer to prayer. AND, I suspect that others who were also praying, seen him as I did, a light of hope in a possible dark moment of American history.

The thing I liked about Brown's acceptance speech is that he stands for National Defense [something I didn't know]. Calling terrorist, TERRORISTS! Using taxes to kill the terrorists, not pay for attorneys to defend them [I guess this comes from his rank of Lt. Colonel in the Army Reserve]. And protecting Americans under the Constitution, not protecting enemies of the state under our Constitution.

As for his pro-abortionist beliefs, I believe that God will judge these leaders for this sin, when the time comes.

How many times [in the Bible] did God send an imperfect person to get His will done? It happened quite often. After all, Saul/Paul was a murderer of believers until he had his life changing meeting with Jesus. What's to say that Brown won't see the light, when it comes to abortion, through the fervent prayers of our nation.:jesus:

What I do believe is that God sent a last minute "stay of execution" when it came to this ridiculous health-care bill, and I, for one, will not question His choice. Rather, than criticize Brown, I will give God praise for sending His (in referrence to God's personal vote) vote to halt the collapse of FREEDOM, as we know it.:godisgood:

Go ahead and criticize my stand. That is your right. But, know this: God did step in and intervene, which shows His love for this nation!

    Shalom

    Pastor Paul:type:

His victory means that there is one more Senator that supports abortion. As a Christian, issues such as murder should trump issues such as taxes and health care.

Pastor Paul, there were three people running. Wouldn't Mr. Brown be the lesser of three evils?

And isn't the lesser evil, still evil?

MP, are you against abortion when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?

Are you against abortion when the life of the woman is endangered?

(For the record - I am against both of the above but I am trying to discover MP's exact position on the issue.)

I'll concede that point to you. It is true, any of the three candidates would have been a Senator that supports abortion.

Somehow I just find it impossible to help vote in a person I know is going to help murder children, regardless of their other positions.

I know how you feel. I am very happy that the democrats lost the 60 majority. But if I was living in MA I would not have voted for him, I couldn't have because he supports abortion.

What I fear now is that he will become the golden boy for the republican party. I have already heard some mention he should be the choice of the republican party to answer the presidents state of the union address. I have hear it mentioned that he might be the guy to go against Oboma next time. As happy I am about his win, I am also a little worried the republican machine and all the talking heads will pick this guy as the saviour for the party.

On the news tonight he said that those in Mass. knew what they did wrong with their health system and they knew what had to be changed and that he was going to do that (in washington). Health care reform that is changed is still health care reform. I won't be holding my breath on this one.

    1. My position has been articulated in the past, therefore I shall not repeat it here.
    2. My position is not the issue.

I think you have to look at candidates as a whole; you aren't going to find one that you agree with on everything unless you are the candidate.

You may have stated your position previously but I am not aware of it?

Your position is relative to the issue in that you are attempting to paint Brown as pro-abortion based on his acceptance of abortion in the case of rape, incest and the life of the mother.

So please, what is your position concerning abortion in the above stated exceptions?

Sorry Targus, I won't be baited into playing your game. The point is not painting anything, nor is it my position. The point that you missed is that many on here have stated that they do not believe in any exceptions to a no-abortion position, that any candidate who does will not get their vote, and that those who support a candidate who does are "baby killers". Now some of the same folks express glee at a candidate who has a record of protecting abortion rights. This is hypocritical, despite their attempts at rationalizing it.

More intentionally and disingenuous false spin by you which is quite common. What the "glee" is about is Obama's agenda has been brought to a halt. The support for Brown is just not there and you know it. But sour grapes will drive liberals to lie.

Scott Brown opposes the public funding of abortion. He supports parental consent notification. He supports a 24 hour waiting period for abortion. Yes, I'll take his position over a candidate who supports public funding, and/or opposes a waiting period and parental notification. If that makes me a hypocrite, then one's definition of hypocrite isn't accurate. It's only hypocritical if one believes there is such thing as a perfect candidate.

==So, what the "tea party" stands for is stopping the health care bill by electing someone who believes abortion should be legal? I knew there was something about the "tea party" movement I did not like. Moral compromise is never acceptable. It is a slippery slope, the first step towards accepting abortion.

"While this decision should ultimately be made by the woman in consultation with her doctor, I believe we need to reduce the number of abortions in America. I believe government has the responsibility to regulate in this area and I support parental consent and notification requirements and I oppose partial birth abortion. I also believe there are people of good will on both sides of the issue and we ought to work together to support and promote adoption as an alternative to abortion." (SOURCE)

Brown believes abortion should be legal. I cannot, I will not, vote for or support any candidate who believes abortion should be legal.

==So, stopping this healthcare bill is more important that stopping the slaughter of millions of babies? Come on! Whenever someone says I don't believe/support something and then add the words "but" or "however" there is always a compromise coming. You can say you don't support pro-abortion candidates, but in this case you have. If abortion is as important as we have claimed it is, then there can be no compromise. Period.

==Since Brown will not vote to end all abortions, that is a empty victory for political conservatives.

==Dream on. The power hungry democrats and republicans in DC will find a way to push their big noses into our personal lives (even more). Any federal healthcare bill is unconstitutional (10th Amend.). Electing the pro-abortion candidate Scott Brown will not change that.

==I'm sorry, but I don't see anyone who believes that the murder of the innocent should be legal as an answer to prayer.

==Maybe you should read Romans 1 again. God not only judges those who engage in evil deeds (such as supporting abortion), He also judges those who support them (Rom 1:32).

==Excuse me, but Paul repented of his sin. Brown, to this point, still believes murder is ok. He has not repented.

==Whats to say that he won't go to DC and work against ending abortion? Your statement is the same type of thing we hear from young ladies interested in dating a non-christian guy. I think we call it "missionary dating" and, btw, it rarely works. I'm not going to support a pro-abortion candidate in the hopes that one day he will repent. If he repents, he might get my support. Until then, I will not support Scott Brown any more than I could support any pro-abortion candidate.

==What about the "right to life" that Brown denies? Is that freedom? I don't think so.

==You better be careful trying to speak for God on these issues. Brown's election could very well be a sign of God's judgment upon professing this nation. I don't know that, but I'm just pointing out that we don't know why this guy was elected. What I do know is that I am not going to support any candidate who believes the murder of innocent babies should be legal. Period.

==At one point in the past I might have agreed with that kind of logic. No more. The lesser of two/three evils is still evil and evil is unacceptable. Period.

==I agree that we have to examine candidates as a whole. And I agree that we will never find the "perfect" candidate. But when someone supports the slaughter of innocent babies, that is a deal breaker. It does not matter how great the person is on other issue, if they believe abortion should be legal (for any reason) they will not get my support.
