Missionary cupboard

We have a missionary cupboard at church that only gets used a few times a year, and I've noticed that some of the items have never been touched, so they must not be items our missionaries need. I'd like to replace these items with things that would be more useful. The items not moving are bath towels, plastic storage dishes, and decorative items like small pictures, baskets and candles.

So far the things that get used most are:
batteries
shampoo
socks
construction paper
note cards
stamps
dish towels
ziplock baggies

We have other personal hygiene items and office supply items. Is there anything else that would be particularly useful for missionaries? Especially for the men?

 

Spinach, many times only the husbands come to speak, without their wives coming with them. In that case my husband will take them to the cupboard.

Great ideas, please keep them coming. Also, many of our missionaries are elderly.

 

Annsni, it's like a mini store of necessities offered to our missionaries to help provide for their practical needs. Whenever one of our missionaries comes "home" and visits our church, we let them take whatever they need/want from the cupboard. Some churches have missions closets full of household items, clothing, and food but our church is tiny so we have a cupboard. Throughout the year we bring in items for the cupboard to keep it stocked. We do not have food or clothing in ours (except for socks) due to space and expiration dates for food, but we do have office supplies and other items.

The cupboard is to show them we love them and to provide for needs without them making a trip and spending money at the store. One of our missionary ladies uses the cupboard items for her Christmas gifts to their family members that they otherwise could not afford to give. Another missionary uses the items while on the road, like hand sanitizers and fix-a-flat.
