    Hi all,

I just finished my degree in apologetics and am chomping at the bit to start serving Christ with what I have learned. I'm wondering if any of you are in any type of apologetics ministry and how you got started. I'm currently visiting a new church and I'm sure they want members only in teaching and ministry positions. So I'm also open to a ministry outside the brick & mortar. I'll tell you right up front I'm not a debater, at least not yet. I like to write and my love is to encourage believers and to warn those in the church of the false doctrines we see so prevalent today and to lead them to the truths of scripture.

That all sounds great have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed.

Hi SolaSaint! Congratulations on finishing your education. I know that is always a wonderful, but scary, feeling. First you need to pray about this carefully. Second I would strongly suggest you talk with your pastor. There might be a Sunday School position you could take up. Or maybe witnessing. Don't be so anxious to get "out there". Start building your ministry locally at your church and then let the Lord guide you. Let it be God's ministry. As Charles Stanley always says, "Obey God, and leave all the consequences to Him". I can tell you, it works everytime. Trust the Lord to give you a ministry where you can use your education. It might be professional, it might be something you do "on the side", but He will guide you where He wants you. He might not always do what you thought He would do, but He will take you where He wants you (always the right direction).

Btw, if you don't mind me asking, where did you earn your degree? Is it a certificate, an associates, bachelors, or masters?

    God bless!

It's a Masters, but it's not accredited in the USA, I earned it online in a school out of India. (Trinity School of Apologetics)

    Thanks for the encouragement!!:wavey:

the bible says if you don't have the Holy Spirit you do not belong to Jesus, meaning you are not saved, you are not a christian.
And I doubt you are a baptist.

I see now why you are here. Remember this is a Baptist forum and I'm sure I speak for all that a genuine born again Christian receives the Holy Spirit at the time we are born again. I'll assume you are speaking of a second working of God upon special people, which I don't believe is biblical.

I am assuming an amazing amount of hard work went into this degree, good for you, following God's lead even if it was hard. It would scare me, and I couldn't do it either, so I admire people who've put the effort in to this.

SolaSaint I ask not weather you were saved. At the time of salvation I am sure you received the Holy Spirit of promise as in the spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ. I ask if you received the Spirit of the Father ( the HOLY SPIRIT sometime after salvation. ) He is he teacher.

there is only 1 Holy Spirit, if yu knew anything about the bible you'd know that. There is nothing in scripture that even hints at what you've been saying on this board, and I highly doubt your actually a baptist.

Teacher and preacher, two different things. Teach brother if that's your calling. Today's fellowships certainly need good teachers that's for sure, the world will always need preachers.

I see Trinity offers Bachelor and Masters "Diplomas". What does that mean exactly?!?

It means an education I guess. The Apostles were uneducated men remember.

I think all education is ok, even self learning.

Yes, but there is a difference in getting an education from a diploma mill and true institution. I do not even see a statement of faith on there, nor where the professors got their education from.

If the goal is to serve outside the church (as it seems SS wants to do), a diploma won't get it done in most churches. That is why I wanted clarification as to what a Masters or Bachelors "diploma" meant.

As some reported there is one Holy Spirit please read my post on "if Jesus was to come to a bapist church would they crucify them" I have addressed it in detail with scripture.

I looked at that - I couldn't post there as the thread was closed. You said this:
This is totally unbiblical, sorry to say. Jesus is not the "lesser light!" Where do you get that from? The lesser light is the moon. God used lesser and greater light for the sun and moon to put down the worship of the sun and moon as gods at the time.

Jesus never called himself a 'lesser light.'

I chose Trinity because of two reasons; the cost (no tuition) and the theological stance they take. I couldn't afford a degree from a Biola or SES, so I searched for a good online school that I could afford. I did research from several students and even talked to one via telephone several times before committing to the school. I'll have to admit it was well worth it. This school isn't a diploma mill and they state so up front, I'll just have to assume you didn't research much on their site. I had to spend much time in the word and studying various Christian theologians. Please don't try to say I made a mistake by choosing a university that isn't accredited here in the USA for you really don't know my heart. I'm not after a diploma and really don't even care if I get one. I wanted to understand God's word taught from a biblical conservative school, and this one fit the bill. I now feel much more equipped to encourage fellow believers and to challenge fellows like this Joesph we see in here invading every post. I have engaged him as someone asked and will continue to do so if he persists to spread false teachings in here. I hope you now understand why I pursued this degree and I'm kind of sad I even mentioned it now.
