    Obama names brother of undecided House Dem to Appeals Court.

    Tonight, Barack Obama will host ten House Democrats who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; he's obviously trying to persuade them to switch their votes to yes. One of the ten is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today President Obama nominated Matheson's brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

    More evidence that he is not here to bring change, but the same old tired politics.

    This happens with every president. Where is the promised change?

    That has been my line all along. No one has ever seen me post in support of President Obama.

    I have questioned the muslim/communist/destroy America line from day one.

    Its worse than all that. He is a puppet on a string for the Daly machine.

    He is Marxist/communist and he does not want to destroy America in the sense that he wants the country to be a desert waste land but he does want to remake it to a new socialist experiment. He does want to destroy its founding because he does not like a government that is limited.

    Political patronage has always sickened me. This is not shocking by any means It trust proves that nothing really changes in Washington. For all his false promises President Obama is just another politician.

    I agree. It is a real shame but it is obvious that this type of thing is not beyond either party. Politicians have become snakes in the grass that will cut just about any deal in order to further their agenda and rationalize it as the "process".

    Obama an't even buy a vote without screwing it up.

    It was a boneheaded move to announce the nomination now. He almost forces Mathison to vote against Obama's bill to keep from being crucified for being bought and paid for and/or Republican's will violently oppose his brothers nomination , on principle if nothing else.

    Didn't Rod Blagojovich get impeached for "selling" Obama's Senate seat among other things ? Somebody should apologize to him if Obama gets a pass...

    If this is true, impeachment for high crimes and misdemeanors anyone ?

    There is nothing criminal here. The president gets no personal gain. This is just the same old tired hack political patronage which is a part of every political system.

    One lesson from all this - the more a candidate promises change the less we can trust them to deliver it.

    Dear Roger,

    While you might dismiss it as "patronage", I respectfully disagree. Obama still benefits via getting a judge who will support his agenda in court decisions. The impartiality of the courts...

    And, he gets another possible vote for this evil health care plan...
