    By Jim Forsyth
    Monday, March 8, 2010

    SNIP

"As an American citizen, it is tough on my part to pay tax dollars to an entity that can turn around and use those tax dollars to get my fellow American citizens to not do business with me," Paul Atkinson, who owns Atkinson Toyota in Bryan Texas, and is President of the dealer council, tells 1200 WOAI news.

"Car and Driver" ran a test of several makes of cars. The throttle was locked at highway speed and the brakes were applied. They all stopped within a few feet of their normal stopping distance even with against the engine cranked up to highway speed power level.

So we can rule out a mechanical problem. I believe in time it will be discovered to be a computer [software] problem.

What's behind the government's pursuit of Toyota:

Not to mention the administration"s union driven agenda.

    What's unfair about it:

it's Toyota who luring their own customers away, by selling and defending faulty cars with people dying in them and saying they've fixed them when in fact they have not. only fools would buy a Toyota now.

When compared to trucks they are all junk. Trucks (tractors) will get 300,000 miles before a top overhaul and 600,000 to 750,000 before a major overhaul. I know a man who is on his third engine in his truck. Know any cars like that?

I can't put 3 car seats on a tractor or in a truck.

Toyota uses it's own money for advertising and for repairing the current problems.

Government Motors uses our money to do both, plus try to eliminate any competition.

GM to recall 1.3M cars for steering fix

Are you sure you want to have only Government Motors as a vendor for your future cars? Do you really believe that being a monopoly will make the government produce better cars?
