Many times I am faced with people who claim to be Christians but do not act Christian or have a doctrine outside of Christianity such as Universalism. Honestly I find this is one of the hardest people to reach and even relate with. In some ways I would rather face an unbeliever then a person who calls themselves Christian yet flagrently sins in the eyes of God or professes a false doctrine entirely not Christian such as Universalism. This week I have felt quite burdoned on it and if anyone has any experience in this area or even a link or two I would appreciate it. Lately I have been studying this webpage the most. I have found a wealth of information here.

    Thank you for your responses.

    You post a link.

What is it about that site you agree or don't agree with?

(BTW, I read 'overclocking Jesus'..... and while sacreligious, imo, still I couldn't help but laugh til my eyes cried buckets and I couldn't breath except in wheezes at the bottom of my lungs...)

People who are living under a false doctrine are VERY hard to reach, not impossible, but oh so difficult to convince.

It's just my opinion, but I think that Jesus was saying to the church of Laodecia in Revelation 3 exactly what you are saying.

They were completely unaware of their spiritual status and had bragged that they were in a state of exaltation of their own accord. Jesus was outside their church trying to "get in".

You are right. People who believe that they are saved and are actually going to hell are very hard to reach. I wonder just how many people who are Baptist who sit in a pew every single Sunday and are no more saved than a turnip and yet they think they have their "fire insurance" in the back pocket.

Now, I am a Baptist, so don't get me wrong, but you don't have to be Universalist or a Mormon to be under a false doctrine. Many Baptist are under a self-designed delusion that they are saved through their own devices.

I agree false doctrine seems to be skyrocketing. I was in a brief study today on inerrancy.

I also agree of the problems inside the church. If the problems persist in the church how can we reach whats still lost outside? I have been blessed in what is in my church. I had been searching for some time and it took a movement from the east coast to the west coast for me to find one. Oddly I didnt even want to move to the west coast !!! Thank God I did however.

It seems to me that the ball is rolling downhill faster and faster these days. It seems the time is drawing nearer.

I mostly use that webpage for its apologetics. Another friend of mine has found some things we have yet to discuss, but in general what the man posts here in the realm of apologetics has been very useful. Honestly its one of the best I have found online and I try to search for more of these.

The 'overclocked Jesus' one is funny. Oddly enough it makes you think too LOL!

I've been reading through that site in no particular order and find much which interest me.
The pictorial concept of the trinity.... three distinct persons.... one God .... is the clearest I've ever seen.
The World View Chart, as a broad survey tool is particularly useful.

Somethings which I find particularly discomforting is the rapture as post trib... and I'd like to take more time to study scripture with that perspective open: Having always grown up where the pretrib rapture was taught... this has very naturally been my pov.... but pov doesn't matter when it may be founded on tradition or comfort but not scripture. I have been more inclined to consider a mid-trib rapture in recent readings of scripture, and, in this respect I think the church is failing to prepare itself by prayer, intensive study and increased witnessing, and a total surrender to Jesus Christ, and a spiritual toughening against spiritual deceptions and the realization that no amount of materialistic preparations will suffice for the building up of faith to endure and hold fast til Jesus comes. From the author's perspective, it seems he relies greatly on the gospel of John and Matthew, and I'm not yet studied enough to wonder if their is a difference between the viewpoint of a Jewish witness to the Jewish remnant which will be saved at the end, being of 'this' generation vs the message to the church (mostly Gentile.... and the time of the Gentiles) in Paul's epistles.

Regarding the OP: What I have read on that site concerning 'universalism' has increased my understanding of that heresy, and which may help me to be more precise and critical of myself when discussing or making statements so that a mixed and unintentional message is not given to others which would leave them with this conclusion. There is no doubt in my mind that there is no other name given under heaven whereby men must be saved than Jesus the Son of God. And the wages of sin is death...its appointed unto men once to die and after this the judgment: He that believes not the Son does not have life... but the wrath of God abides with him forever.

I do appreciate your sharing this link.

I have studied both views of trib rapture and I personally still find pre trib to be the strongest view. I must admit I have always been inclined to the pre trib view even when I study mid or post trib.

Honestly I love that webpage because it is so plentiful with apologetics and I feel that this is badly needed. In many ways I agree the church needs to use such things to prepare members, but it would seem sometimes that many churches are lost and that only a remnant remain. I wasnt even a Baptist until about a year ago, but was attending so many different denominations wishing I could find one. God moved me from Virginia to Washington State and I was blessed with a church where the pastor teaches these things. He has a library from 30 years of study that he lets me get into constantly. It gave me a huge drive and thats how I found this one webpage and a few others.

I truly am glad you have found it useful.
