Overly aggressive BB Police

    It seems every time a thread gets interesting it is halted by the BB Moderators and/or Administrator. Is this just a microcosm of our society and their very limited forbearance of free speech or is it the pleasure that comes from having the power to silence opposing views? Seems that the free thought of humans and the differences that are produced by it are being overruled by the super sensitive sentiment that reigns in our current present times, here and elsewhere.

    Our mods work hard so we can have a good forum here, and they don't get paid for it. Why don't you volunteer for the job instead of criticizing them?

    Also, what you call "interesting" is what some of us call "inappropriate, unkind, ungodly, or disruptive."

    I expected nothing less of you commandant than to follow orders and to march with the band. :laugh:
    And FYI I was once a moderator on a Christian website that folded because of issues with the owner.

    BB makes no excuses for the fact that we are a tightly moderated discussion forum. For those who don't like that mind of moderation there are plenty of boards out there that allow the kind of 'freedom' you desire.

    I think that sometimes it's not moderated enough. There's been a lot of stuff that I would have totally gone after on a board that I'm a moderator of. But this is not my board and I greatly appreciate the privilege of being here. I can voice my opinion on something but generally, I post here due to the generosity of others. Period.

    I am prolly one of the more liberal members of the BB and I have never been forced out, had a forum cancelled or been reprimanded. I do, however, control my liberal opinions to a simple statement and do not engage in debate on the topic.

    I praise the BB, and fully enjoy the site.

    Some more obnoxious folks with chips-on-shoulders have commented in the past about jack-booted thugs running this thing.

    I remember their attitudes and names and cut them more slack than others to show we tolerate even threads an inane as this one.

    I agree with Ann, sometimes it isn't moderated enough.
    Then there are a few mods who haven't been here in months, and others who show up every now and then. So the mods we have regularly must be over worked.

    Salary??? The printing press is in the workshop with the rest of the farm equipment---over by the Acetlyne torch tank and the electric welding machine and grinders and that bench vise!!! Whenever Blackbird wants to get payed---he presses the button!!!!
