Other than Sara Palin, Ron Paul, Romeny, and Gingrich. Who do you think would be the best candidate for the Elephants in 2012?

Do you think any Democrat will challenge BO?

"Who do you think would be the best candidate for the Elephants in 2012?"

We have a fellow in Portland that people love, his name is Packy and he is a 48 year old elephant. Probably has more sense than most politicians of late.

Demo run agains Odrama? I would not be surprised, if someone sees the backlash against him that they would see an opportunity.

Of your list here, I like what Gingrich has to say and what he did before, but couldn't vote for him due to his personal life.

Romeny is a little to liberal for me, but I do like him.

Palin is a good looker, but I don't know about as president.

Paul, never as a Republican, maybe as a Libertarian. We have to many non republican now running for office, look at our governor here in Fl. I just don't care for this man.

As of right now, I don't know.

    This attitude
is the greatest reason I'm disenfranchised with the Republican Party.

The Republican party excludes those who've demonstrated strength and courage and stand against big government, against consolidation of interest and control of wealth in the hands of a few eliminating competition, and a revolt against globalist interest and movement of industry out of our country.
Ron Paul is more republican... make that more of a republic type of candidate than most elected by Republicans. When the Republican Party throws its own people to the wolves and those who would stand by the constitution and fiscal conservatism and major decisions based upon need and good rational thought instead of emotional whipping..... it has lost me.

And the Republicans will lose in November if they don't line up candidates which are conservative in practice as well as speech.... and demonstrate some understanding of the constitution besides their willingness to take an oath. If the Republicans don't get the backbone to present a stronger showing of honest difference in these primaries and elections coming up.... they will be broken by the voters they been disenfranchising over the years.

Since Romney basically did the same thing in MA. with health care reform as Obama has now done, I think he would be the worst choice for the Republican nomination. Why run a guy who can't campaign hard against Obama using the number one issue that would hurt him?

There is a lot of time, someone will emerge once the process begins. I just hope the republicans aren't dumb enough to nominate Romney.

I don't know what is wrong about my attitude, but such is life. I haven't voted for a republican for president in years, Reagan was the last one. I didn't even vote for our governor down here in Florida.

I'm all for folks who wish to change their party because they have changed their view, but to come into a party because they couldn't get elected in their party, I not much for. I've voted third party many times and even though I'm not a Libertarian, I've vote for them as well.

I'm a conservitive first then a republican, that could be the reason I vote for so few republicans in national elections today.

You could be correct, but I wouldn't vote for him as I didn't for McCain, Bush, Doyle and Bush.

I agree with windcatcher. If they are going to put up another Bush, McCain, or liberal in conservative clothing, then don't bother to have a convention or primaries. The names dragged out in the posts above are the same old, tired, faces that will result in the same, old nonconservative, anti-Constitutional policies of the past.

The line with which we divide candidates needs to be moved, away from the Democrat-Republican divide, to a division between Constitutional and the liberal/socialist agenda. To answer the question of the op, I have no idea at this point in time who could oppose Obama, since all the names mentioned (besides Paul) are just like him.

I agree with what you say here. I couldn't and didn't vote for the ones you have listed.

I'm with you on Constitutional but not on Paul. I went for about three years going to all of the Libertarian meeting I could and hear Dr. Paul speak many times and in that time I heard all I wanted to hear from him. Lets say we see things differently. Or less he has changed a lot over the last 15 years or so, he is a true libertarian, we don't see things the same.

Still need to know more about this guy, but I've been extremely impressed so far with NJ governor Chris Christie.

My wife voted for Sam Brownback in the primaries last election. I think he is leaving the senate this year and going for governor. Of the ones who ran last time, I would say he is the best of them.

It does seem like he gets it. He just might be the type of guy that once in Washington wouldn't quickly become "one of them". It seems like most people once in office become like the movie "Body Snatchers" and they all fall in line.

Honestly, it would take a major change in the Republican party for me to even care who was running. I've had it with both major parties, and I plan to vote accordingly next election time.

Every time the Republicans SAY they are conservative, it seems they are either lying or too wimpy to stand up for what they pretended to believe in while running for office. I'm tired of being duped.

BRAVO!!! BRAVO!!! Now, if just 150 million others could see that, we could get rid of both parties. We the people started these parties, and we the people can dismantle them. There is nothing wrong with debate and choice. We need a choice of who could be run the country according to the Constitution. A good start might be a libertarian type party vs the Constitution Party. Both parties need to be free of the greed, corruption, and thieves that control the two present choices. You are either honest and want to serve the American people, or you do not. Presently, the two choices do not.

I agree with you 100 percent. BUT how many government workers want to serve or just what they can get out of the job? How many government or non government workers give their employer 100 percent effort? As our pastor ask a few weeks ago how many pastor give their congregation the teaching and leadership they need, he said he knows he fail often. Today to many folks want what they can get out of a job, not what they can put into a job(my father use to blame this on FDR).

I don't blame the bad or poor one running for an office, I blame the folks who vote for them. We know so many if not most of the folks want something for nothing, so why shouldn't they run for office too, we need to watch. Wasn't it Truman who said he was unemployed is why he ran for office, I think that was county judge?

I would really like to see our Senator Jim DeMint run for president. But I would not like to lose him as our conservative senator. That would leave us with Lindsey Graham. Having Graham is just like having Fritz Hollings back.

All I've read and heard about Senator DeMint has been good.

That is what saturneptune has been talking about, I believe. Different party different person, but same liberal agenda, big government and spend all you can.
