I'd like to share my dream that I had last night and ask if any of you have ever had one similar.
In my dream my wife and I, and another man, (who, I do not know,) were talking about the return of the Lord and we were watching the skies. The sky began to look funny and had a lot of different shapes in the clouds. All of a sudden there was a circular light and A flash almost like when a camera takes a picture. Realizing that it was the return of the Lord, I looked at my wife to tell her this was really it, and before I could speak a word she began to change from the top of her head downward and we took off like rocket ships. It was quite amazing and I woke up. I laid there while it was still dark, thinking about it. I shared it with my wife when we were getting ready to go to church, and then when we got to church, I felt compelled to share it with the SS Class. I didn't think I would be bringing it up again, but in the preaching hour the message went in that direction close to the end and I wound up sharing it with everyone. It just seemed like being in church this morning made the dream even more real than it was when I had it overnight.

Why one would be compelled to share a dream (as if "it has significance") is beyond me.

With a spouse? Yeah, mild interest because she chose to marry you *which brings questions about her, but that is another issue.

With Sunday School? I'd have shut you down in 10 seconds. This is a time to study the Word and Truth, not the cleansing of your sub-conscious drivvel.

With "everyone" in church? Oh, my. USHERS! USHERS!! Clean up in pew 4

With the BB? You have some serious issues.

While I agree I wouldn't have shared it in church either, don't you think you are being a little harsh Bob?

Well, we sometimes dream about things we have on our mind, and that is probably all it was.

But on the other hand, I have had a few very strange experiences in my life I cannot explain. Because of these I am far more open minded when I hear accounts like this. At one time I was a total skeptic and would laugh and ridicule someone who told of an experience like this, but no more.

Wow, Dr. Bub. They say, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. I didn't know our previous sparring would bring out your feminine side and subject you to new lows.
Anyway, I did not present my dream as some spiritual awakening, a vision, or a revelation from God, neither there nor here. It was what it was. Just a dream that contained thoughts of my own making and mind of things pertaining to the rapture. That's all! Don't let your buddy from Joja get you all shook up.
Oh yeah, the wife thing. That is the best part. To have a woman that loves and cares for you, and a wonderful Christian woman on top of that. Thank God He has blessed her to be my mate the last 32 years.
Dreams can be of many foolish and convoluted things, it's nice to have one occasionally that has something to do with your faith. Maybe you should have one sometime. :wavey:

I'm a 90's sort of man, in touch with my feminine side, bro. ;)

I was just trying to drive home a point that DREAMS MEAN NOTHING spiritual and to then go on and relate your crazy mixed-up dream beyond your wife to SS and Church seems WAY out of line.

What a waste of God's precious time for teaching and sharing the Word, to spend it on telling nightmares. As I mentioned, talk like that would be quickly stopped (I'd do it graciously of course) and focus instead on what is of real value/importance.

(BTW, friend, quit watching the X Files and eating pizza before bed)

Nah, this wasn't my nightmare. I can't understand why you would consider someone dreaming about something as wonderful as the rapture as a nightmare. My recurring nightmare, if you will, is when I dream that I have been invited somewhere to preach and it is just before the time to take the pulpit and I am totally unprepared! For real, I have this one often.

Don't read more into this than what it was. Like I said, it was just a dream and since I am going to be having them anyway it may as well be about something good.

    Hey Dr. Bob,
I really hope that when we are all in Heaven one day, you will invite me and cutter into the conversation you have with Joseph over the spiritual insignificance of Dreams. Now that would be very interesting.

Now that is a nightmare and one that I have had as well. While on vacation years ago, I saw a preacher get up to preach and he could not find his Bible (the one with his outline and notes). He grabbed a pew Bible and the rest was torture. I asked him about it afterward and he had been out of town the week before and simply had grabbed an old sermon out of the filing cabinet. It goes to show you: there can be a price to being unprepared. Ever since, I have had an occasionally nightmare about being unprepared to preach. :praying:

    Speaking of dreams....

Too bad some "pastors" still judge by the color of skin and won't marry mixed race couples.

Dreams before the completion of the special revelation (the inspired written word) are one thing (such as Joseph's dreams), but now that which is perfect has come, i.e. the complete canon of Scripture and the indwelling Spirit to guide us along on our pilgrimage, we have all we need.

Your dream is just a manifestation of something buried in your mind.
It sounds like a desire to be with the Lord.
    Be patient...

    James 5
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord.
Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

He has long tarried but when He comes, He will come quickly.
