Because there are so many different opinions on this board about the Tea Party, I'd like to hold a poll to see how people truly feel about this "ground-swell" movement across America.

By the way, as of yet, I've not heard that any of the Tea Party rallies have resulted in "riots, civil violence, or, mayhem!" These rallies seem to be peaceful gatherings for people to get connected in an effort to return America to the way it was.

Thanks for taking a minute to answer the questions on the poll...

    Shalom,

    Pastor Paul :type:

    Sorry....

The problem with doing a poll, it doesn't let me do the poll until after I post the message. I may be doing something wrong, so, if someone can tell me how to do it differently, I'll change how I do the poll.

Sorry dude, but, go and recheck the post. The poll is now there, I promise:type:

    That's OK...

It may be too conservative for me, too! I'd have to go to a rally and find out. Have you been to a rally?

BTW, is this poll fair, in your opinion??? I tried to make it fair, and not baised, by giving both sides for members to give their opinion.

The poll seemed alright to me.

No, I haven't been to a rally and don't plan on going to one, although I know several people who have. I don't agree with these people so I don't imagine I would enjoy attending.

I agree with some things they bring up, but I have not been to a rally. The poll is decent for those on either side. However, we fence walkers don't really have any good options to affirm. :wavey:

I haven't said much about the Tea Party Movement around here. I checked that I've been to one and I think its good for the country.

This is how change happens in America. We need to vote out every incumbent in office this November and continue to do so until we purge Washington, our state governments, and local municipalities from the stench of corruption and overloaded government pay roles.

I don't understand why the movement has gotten so much bad press (much of it made up imho) because the events that I have attended (mostly as an observer and tea fanatic) have been rallies with no hate, racism, or angst. We need to dramatically overhaul the leadership of this country. If we don't we are going to continue down a road to destruction.

Anyhoo, I think this movement is the first step in doing something realistic about the problems facing our nation. It is also, and I'm a big fan of this, a first step in unifying other groups to possibly form a third party. The Republicans and Democrats are so thoroughly corrupt, useless, and pursuing trivial matters that they are unable to fix themselves and must be done away with for any progress to be made. This is possibly a first step. It challenges, legitimately, the self-identified elites and that is terrorizing for them...I'd be worried too.

I checked that I belong to the Tea Party, but all I've done is gone to their website and signed up to get e-mails and news. I have not attended any rallies or meetings. I signed up just to see what they believe and candidates they are supporting.

I honestly do not know what to think of the Tea Party movement, I am very conservative and tend to like what they say now. but what I do not like is that Sarah Palin seems to be a leading candidate there. I will not vote for a quitter and I think a candidate should at least be somewhat smart to dumb people and Palin is not.

I'm not sure Sarah is going to be their candidate, they just love the way she speaks truth and stirs things up.

I like most of what I see but did not get involved here. I looked up some of the groups that are under the umbrella here in OR and some of them gave me pause to ponder. Nothing glaring, but groups that could well be radical under the camo

At least it is stirring the country up to the goings on of Odramanation.

What ever the tea party is it's a threat to unlimited centralized government which the Washington establishment loves very dearly.

I think if those in this "party" aren't careful those who's power it threatens will have them all chasing their tails and ducking for cover before it's all over.
