Are we being spoon fed by the media? This past week we found from the mayor of New York that the times square bomb attempt was the 11 close call New York has had in the past few years.

I heard on the radio that a bomb had gone off in a Texas airport, but nothing on the national news and nothing more than the once on radio.

There was a bus back east - someone supposedly with a bomb - surrounded with swat teams - one person did not get off - nothing more was heard.

I watch a lot of news on two networks and we don't seem to be hearing stuff.

Not to mention that we are hearing nothing of the Christian persecution around the world, or the famines.

Reminds me of what they used to say about the Russian media.

It is obvious we are being treated like children by this Administration and the media. When was the last time that you heard a story about Nidal Malik Hasan?

And there might be reasonable National security issues for not make a lot of info known. Even with this admin. Let's not let paranoia take us to psychotic levels.

Ya, like letting people know that travel is now a little less safe by air and bus or walking  Oh, ya that would hurt the economy if they second guessed their travel plans.

Anybody who thinks any of themajor media outlets are being fully open and honest is just Asking to be deceived. Too often American media is guilty of shading, spinning, and shadowing the truth. I don't listen to then exclusively anymore. Too much falsehood And ambiguity, not to mention they miss major stories all the time.

"Are we being spoon fed by the media?"

Do you really have to ask?

Earnest investigative reporting is taboo. Objective, fair and balanced are mere slogans. Reapplying a FAIRNESS DOCTRINE oversight on talk radio would never produce a fairness and accuracy in reporting experience. Liberals, progressives, socialists, marxists, communists, statists, neocons, libertarians and conservatives all have their own preference for news sources. Usually the factual nature of the information within a story takes a subservient relevance to the source of the reporting.

    (ain't it so?)

Censorship is more than the restriction of reading, viewing or discussing ideas. Effective freedom of thought requires that the right to receive information and ideas is real. Ignorance by default is the goal. The media filter allows only acceptable information to be available for the public, is the actual function of the mass media. The psychological damage done by falsehoods in reporting facilitates "TC" institutions. The lies told by the media morph into distorted current events and ultimately become fictitious history.

Mr. Nyquist continues: "For Caesar the ends justified the means, subordinating institutional checks and balances in a quest for "results." Claiming to represent the people, or serve the cause of a "higher history," the dictator serves himself. Caesar destroyed the republic with no greater object than gratifying his own ego."

Even in the best of times we are not told everything. The news has only so much time on air or so much paper to on which to print. Two winters ago BBC and the European news was full of news about terrible snows in China and how it was disrupting travel. Almost nothing appeared in the US print. Also there was lots of new about Zimbabwe and how houses were being bulldozed by the government if they thought the people there had voted the wrong way in the election. Years ago I was in Brazil and the news there was full of the turmoil in Chile and how the days of Salvador Allende were numbered. When his government was overthrown and he will killed our media and government expressed shock and surprise saying there was no indication this was going to happen. I knew this was not true. We are never told everything and we are told with a slant. I believe advertisers play a role in what we see and in what we do not see ... and how it is presented.

There are national security issues that we are never told about and often for good reason ... sometimes for bad reasons.
