I believe that we are seeing daily in the present administration the Divine or Providencial plan that is leading us into "Daniels 70th week".I don't intend to be a prophet of doom & gloom but all the things that Christ told in Matthew is fast comming about, we certainly have more false prophets then ever before or maybe it is that they have a better way of getting their message through TV and the internet. And certainlt nation has risen up against nation and daily there are rumors of war and all the other signs that Chist Jesus pointed out in Matt 24. As I was watching TV recently I thought of the blow to the fish industry with the spill in the gulf. this will certainly cutail the food supply. (the black horse, famine) We will not have peace or plenty right up til the begining. I think all of this is certainly leading us up to Christ return.
What a great lead into the presentation of Christ to the lost. "Yes it is getting gloriously dark". I am becoming more of a proclaimer of the Gospel and a lot less of a "culture warrior".

I need no cultural lead-in for a presentation of the Gospel. It's all about Jesus and our need of Him.

I agree with you, Tom, but the op has a valid point. Recent events are causing Christians to wake up and see what's more important, not the saving of our country as we know it, but the saving of souls as we are commanded.

I now believe our country is lost to us and the freedoms we've experienced will soon be a thing of the past. Thankfully, that understanding has made me realize the uselessness of wasting energy trying to change the country, when I should be using that energy to get the word out about Jesus. Some of y'all have known this all along, but for some of us, it wasn't that easy.

Matthew 24 and Mark 13 both deal with the natural disasters which must come before the end. But both also say "the end is not yet."

I sometimes speculate that as long as there are date-setters around here, making those end-time prophecies, God will keep putting off the end-time events just so they'll be proven to be liars, or deceived.

What's that Butler, you're saying that the prophesying of an end-time event automatically means it won't happen? You're just weird.

Aw, I'm just having a little fun.

Comments not intended to offend, but to make you think about what you are saying:

    How do you know that?
    This is nothing new.
There's been no curtailment, and besides, a curtailment is not a famine.
I live in peace and prosperity in the richest nation (albeith declining) known to history. Where do you live?
If this doesn't lead us up to Christ's return, would that make you a false prophet?
