I read this article with some amazement because I have never heard of this before.

    http://www.ancientlosttreasures.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=471

It tells of the remains of a Christian church probably built by Byzantine monks who fled from North Africa during the 5th Century, in the wake of the Vandal invasions. I suppose this archeological site actually exists but has anyone here ever heard of it? Do you know if this site is used by Mormans to "verify" the Book of Morman (with a very different spin than is found in this article)? Does anyone have any information at all?

    About the author....

He seems to be on the up-and-up. I have googled this for the last 10 minutes and can't find anything else about it except copies of this article.

It's interesting, but I'd like to hear and see more about it before I can made a judgment about it.

This story is a good illustration of why investigation of possible prehistorical sites should not be classified as "scientific."

I have read some articles about this site and it seems to be legitimate. It does NOT have anything to do with the Book of Mormon, which is pure fantasy.

It's very interesting how we learn more and more about the Europeans who came to this continent before Columbus.

I just feel that there are some words which are not really appropriate on a Christian board which can be viewed by anyone.

Nothing to do with being politically correct.

This Ancient America magazine would probably be considered the tabloid of the archeology world, writing stories for shock value with minimal research and no concept of journalistic integrity. Have a look at the stories in their back issues in the link above.

I think the human race is much older than most suspect and there was much seafaring going on several thousand years ago. We think we are smarter than the ancients but mostly we learned to be more "technical." It was the development of metal working and machine tools that gives us the advantage.
