With the hearings to appoint a new Supreme court Justice under way, Americans who hold to the right to own guns/handguns, can see the writing on the walls of the Supreme Court, that the Second Amendment may be close to being history.

As I shared in a post, dated 6/14/2010, "How Do You Get America to Freely Hand Over Their Guns ?!?!?", I honestly believe that the government will allow controversial social situations to get so far out of control, that the people will offer little, or, no resistance when a law is written/rewritten to provide and restore public safety, and to regain control of that situation. Yes, even in the case of guns !

Should the newest candidate for the Supreme court become "confirmed", her vote, along with that of Stevens, Ginsburg, Breyer and Sotomayor (our most recent appointee to the Supreme court) could mean some kind of rewrite to the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Of Course, this is my humble opinion, but, it does not look good for those of us who own guns and strongly support the Second Amendment.

Todays 5-4 vote to uphold the right to own handguns may very easily be 5-4 against hand gun ownership in the next year, or, two.

The appointment of this latest candidate for the Supreme Court just may change the way the court rules on a lot of subjects in our country, and Conservatives may not like what is coming down the road.

    Shalom,

    Pastor Paul :type:

Fact Check: Kagan is nominated to replace Justice Stevens, so she will not be serving with him.

    Great Point, My Mistake

You are correct, and I am wrong. Still, Obama is just one appointment away from having the vote to over ride gun control.

You just made my day, Paul, and you ruined a good post, all at the same time.

I doubt he would want to, given that he came out in support of D.C. v. Heller.

Funny how people take a ruling.

For a ton of people they were happy the SC ruled for gun rights. (Which I could care less about) Yet around here, it is like its a loss.

    Strange.
