Obama, Congress and the Supreme Court to America: "Go eat cake!"

    There seems to be some scholarly debate as to whether Marie-Antoinette, or, King Louis XV's daughters, Madame Sophie and Madame Victoire coined this infamous phrase: "Let the eat cake!". But, from whomsoever's heart and lips this phrase came from, is irrelevant... what does matter, and seems to be applicable to than and now, is that the elected leaders of state seem to have adopted this same inward attitude toward the American people.

    When it comes to their constituents, and what they want, for the greater good of this nation, those who "We, the People!" elected and sent to Washington to protect our interests and wellbeing, seems to be of no concern any longer.

    While the left is ready to roll back their sleeves and fight the right, and, the right is ready to 'put on the gloves and enter the octagon cage' to debate the left, the end result is the same: Obama gets his way, one way or, the other.

    Americans need to be very concerned about what is going on in DC, because, what is happening there closely mirrors the attitude of the French Hierarchy of King Louis day toward the subjects of his rule.

    Aw, shucks folks, what should we do? National health-care, "let them eat cake!" Amnesty, "let them eat cake!" Cap and trade, "let them eat cake!" Trillion dollar bailouts and stimulus spending, "let them eat cake!" Pork attachments, "let them eat cake!" Porous borders, "let them eat cake!" Unemployment, "let them eat cake!" Foreclosures, "let them eat cake!" Veteran's living on the streets, and in their cars, "let them eat cake!" Violence in the streets of our cities, "let them eat cake!" Campaign promises, "Let them eat cake!"

    One HUGE difference - the French had no choice.

    If the American people are really disturbed we can vote them out. Only problem is that cake is too often more important than principles. Whose fault is that?

    Not only are the Democrats telling us to "eat cake," they are doing so at an ever increasing pace. It is kind of like the Devil knowing he has a short season, and increasing evil in the last days. The Democrats know they are going to get clobbered this November by the Republicans (for whatever good that does), so what do they have to lose?

    Not that the Republicans would be any better, but I wonder if you are correct. The American sheeple elected this bunch willingly. I suspect with a few last minute pork buy-offs they will go right along again.

    Even if I am wrong - does anyone really think the GOP are going to fix anything?

    That was than, Paul, this is now. You continue to regress. I know you miss Bush, but, your regression and repression is growing worse with each post.

    Don't you remember, we live in the day of the miraculous. A new day and a new age of 'change'. A day like no other, because this POTUS can walk on water, as well as drink water, and, splash water in the face of those who oppose him. And, unlike Bush, he's a wizard with the basketball......

    It is time that you leave Mr. Bush alone. Mr. Bush will never 'hurt you again' Paul, he's no longer our POTUS. You are safe now, and if you continue to hallucinate, it may mean it's time you seek out help, because it's not good for you to live in the past, all the time. Your HMO, and Obama's new Health-care plan will get you to see someone to help you get your head out of the past and, back into the present. :wavey:

    Please, please do something quickly, I'd hate to see anything seriously happen to you :laugh:

    The only thing that will change with the election of Republicans the voters just threw out is a different set of lobbyists. There will still be no Constitutional government, deficit spending, uncontrolled borders, and a generallly socialist mindset.

    Actually, Obama has a new spin on "Let them eat cake." His version is "Let them eat their grandchildrens' cake!"
