It is less than five months until the November elections. Do you think the Republicans will win the House, Senate, both, or neither?

No doubt the Republicans will make gains as the party out of power usually does in off-year elections. Whether they will gain enough to retake either house it is too early to tell. Not that it will make any difference. We saw just a few years ago what the Republicans do when they control the Congress.

I agree except for our state. Rand Paul is a different stripe of Republican.

OR state rep party is supposedly preparing some very conservative folks to run but the state is usually solid demo so not sure it will fly.

My wife works for the state and a lot of the usually liberal folks are really irate with what is going on so there may be trouble for the liberal folks this time around.

Do you think Paul has a real chance of winning? This isn't a set-up question; I don't know much about him. I did hear part one interview with him and he seemed to be very much like his dad.

Yes, I think he has an excellent chance. He won 58 percent of the vote in the Republican Primary. His opponent had the backing of the establishment GOP. The Democrats are badly divided.

Neither, but they'll tighten it up a bunch.

I think it will be within 5 votes in the Senate, and within 15 in the House.

Enough to slow down the Organizer from (dis-)Organizing...but not enough to stop him.

Not to mention, some of the Republicans that will come back (as has been mentioned) aren't a great deal different from many Dems.

I just want Reid to be gone. Oh, the message that will send!

Not in the overall scheme of things, because of the two party anti-Constitutional stance. However, candidates like Rand Paul can get their foot in the door. One of these elections, the American people will say a pox on both of your houses, and throw every one of them out. I also agree with rbell, getting rid of Reid would also be a step forward.

Mitch McConnell, the Republican Senate minority leader, tried every trick in the book to keep Rand Paul from winning the primary. He won with 58 percent of the vote.

No, it will not matter domestically who wins. Internationally, If the Rs win there is a better chance of more wars.

But Bill, with war there is at least a chance of victory as opposed to surrending to the enemy.
Assuming the Republicans have the stomach for it.
