Don't care much for that website, but I love "Awesome Bill from Dawsonville" (NASCAR).

My friend, in no disrespect, many who support a KJV position, or "going to hell" position, need to read a 1611 copy of the KJV. Then, come back to me and say what you will.

Please don't get me wrong. I love the KJV, because of its literary beauty. However, to state that other bibles do not teach the same doctrine is false. Go to a Kingdom Hall of the JW's and pick up a NWT an then come back.

Yeah, the whole thing just makes no sense. How come no reliable evangelical scholars hold to this position?

And how would reading a 1611 edition change their position?

Any number of the books in the symposium side have been widely disproven. Its ironic, for a site that desires to advocate for the KJV 1611 it uses modern English.

I took a moment to look at their "facts" page and I'm gonna come back and respond to it when I get a moment. (I'm writing a paper for a journal right now and need to focus...wait why am I on this board...)

There is just some bad stuff on this site.

"you may be a target for misinformation, propaganda, deception and lies."

If "bad stuff" equates to a lot of hooey, then yeah... you're right.

But by merely criticizing the content, and calling it "hooey" without delineating your reasons and evidence to support your opinion, or without indicating a willingness to discuss the issue, aren't you doing the same thing as the website's author?

On another forum we were discussing a variant in an English reading between differing English versions based on a variant in the Greek manuscripts. I posted several paragraphs outlining the manuscript evidence and my reasons for taking the position I take. To which my opponent replied: “Only a tee total ignorite would question . . ." (the reading I had just debunked).

I realize this is a web forum, but can one liners really substitute of honest, intelligent discourse, or help us to find some common ground, or assist in edifying one another?

Let’s try to discuss the issue without insult or invective, just to be different. :)

Sorry, TCassidy, but that's the best I could muster in response to the load of manure on the site. The sheer volume of ignorance, the repeated words of Ruckman and others of his ilk, the audacity of touting a man-made fallacy is just too much for me to be civil about it. I can excuse ignorance, but this site is full of crap that is actively promoted by those there.

I am no super scholar. I have no letters behind my name and probably never will. Even so I can see the lies and foolishness of the KJVO "doctrine". I can see its divisiveness. I can see its man-made traditions being raised about the very thing it claims to be "protecting"... and that is God's word.

When someone, anyone starts disrespecting the word of God because it is not an exact copy of their own pet idol/translation my hackles go up. There is more than enough ignorance of God's word already without the misinformation and outright lies from these KJVO "purists". I already fight against that ignorance but have had to divert myself from it in order to fight against this heresy trying to creep into the church. Because of this I give no ground to such garbage.

    Hi jaigner

    You said........
This statement reminded me of a passage in John.........
    John 7:47-48
V.47 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
V.48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?

What we believe, should NEVER be based upon a majority opinion!

LOL - I think that is Finney. Where's Aimee Semple McPherson? General William Booth?

Hmmm...I hope I'm not being labeled as deceived and heretical. I don't tend to take extreme positions on much of anything.

But does that mean we should stop preaching, give away our commentaries, close up seminaries and burn all credible, evangelical scholarship, given to us by men and women who love God and yearn to be faithful and careful in the way they handle the Bible? I don't believe so.

The very reason we do Christian scholarship is so we can hear God's voice as clearly as possible.

The King James Version served the Church well for centuries. Many have come to Christ through its influence. But it desperately needed to be updated, both for readability, because meanings have changed and vernacular has evolved, and to reflect the huge scholarly breakthroughs over the past few centuries.

    Hi Rippon

When I said it was great, I was talking about what I had read..........

“Often times you will hear on “Christian” radio, preachers and teachers referring to – “the
promises of God’s word”. Or some well known Evangelist on TV will declare – “the Bible says”.
Or in “Evangelical” churches around the country, a popular pastor may talk about: “God’s
word”. Or “Christian” books, pamphlets, and magazines may emphasize the “importance of
    the Scriptures”.
A Christian’s faith is founded on “the Scripture of truth”; and our confidence is in the
truthfulness and trustworthiness of the Holy Bible being pure and without admixture of error.
Christians should be a people of “THE BOOK”. Because this is so – the first question that
comes to the mind of a thinking person is: WHAT IS GOD’S WORD?
One of the most important issues amongst saved people today is: Do we have a Holy Bible? Or
just a “book” that: Contains God’s word. Is God’s word except - this word or that verse, etc. Is “credible” and “reliable” - but certainly Not “HOLY”!

ASK YOURSELF: WHAT IS GOD’S WORD? DO WE HAVE GOD’S WORD TODAY?
IF WE DO, WHERE IS IT?
The KING JAMES BIBLE Believers Forum & Symposium is dedicated to the proposition that
the King James Bible (formerly known as the “Authorized Version” i.e. the AV1611) is God’s
Holy word: Preserved perfect, without error - Holy, inspired, and infallible – exactly as God
    would have it.
The issue of "Which Bible", if any, constitutes the word of God is a very controversial subject.
Personal Bias and Prejudice are very difficult to set aside, especially when a person’s religion
or personal belief is involved. However, we believe that the TRUTH can always stand an open
inquiry and that no one should be afraid to have their beliefs examined unless they are unsure
    of what they believe.
If you are unfamiliar with the Bible; If you do not know much about Church History; If you
have never studied the History of the Transmission of the Text of the Bible; If you are not
familiar with the so called “science” of Textual Criticism; If you have never examined, weighed
and carefully investigated New Testament Manuscript evidence; and If you have never made a
comparative study of Bible Translations, you may be a target for misinformation, propaganda,
deception and lies. Be extra careful about what you accept as TRUTH! Take the time to “Check
Out” every thing you hear or read. And make sure of the PEOPLE (teachers, professors,
friends, relatives and loved ones) and the INSTITUTIONS (schools, colleges, universities
“Christian” or not, churches, fellowships etc.) that you put your trust in.
There are many questions concerning the “Which Bible” issue. All Christians should know which
Bible is God’s Holy word. The question for modern day Christians is - are we going to trust today’s
scholars and scribes to give us a HOLY Bible? Or are we going to trust God? Do we believe what God
has said about His word, or do we reject His words and ignore them?
A careful review of the Bible on the subject of It’s Own Authority reveals that the Bible should
be the Sole Source of AUTHORITY on all matters of faith and practice for the Christian. With
the exception of God Himself, a Christian should place nothing above the Bible nor should the
Bible be put in subjection to the Christian’s own culture, prejudices and biases. No church; no
    group; no “fellowship”; no ecclesiastical organization; no government; no school or university;
no man or movement should be placed above the Bible.
Ultimately the “Which Bible” question come down to the issue of FINAL AUTHORITY. What is a
Christian’s “FINAL AUTHORITY” – is it a church, a school, a “Christian” Institution; or is it a
man (a pastor, a “Dr.”, a “Christian” celebrity, etc.), or one of the numerous “modern
versions” that have flooded the “Market” in the last few years? WHAT is your “FINAL
AUTHORITY” in all matters of faith and practice?
We believe in, and recognize the KING JAMES BIBLE (AV1611) as being our “FINAL
AUTHORITY” in all matters of faith and practice, and we dedicate this site to the preaching,
teaching, and propagation of God’s Holy words found within the King James Bible, and to
Almighty God, the Author of all Holy Scripture.”

    I especially liked.......
The question for modern day Christians is - are we going to trust today’s
scholars and scribes to give us a HOLY Bible? Or are we going to trust God? Do we believe what God
has said about His word, or do we reject His words and ignore them?

    Hello again Rippon

I am not an expert on Finney, but I like what I have read about him so far.

    Is their a reason that I shouldn’t??
