In response to the "Why I vote Democrat[sic]" thread...

    10. I voted Republic because I don't think the public is smart enough to try terrorists in jury trials.

    9. I voted Republic because I'd rather have the hot lady than the Tiger Woods-looking guy.

    8. I voted Republic because I want to have a national pastor instead of a President.

    7. I voted Republic because I want to gripe about abortion while starting unneeded wars to help the military-industrial complex.

    6. I voted Republic because I want to give bailouts to the big banks instead of helping working people.

    5. I voted Republic to keep Social Security taxes regressive.

    4. I voted Republic to impose the regressive FairTax on people so the tax burden will fall on the poor and middle class who spend a greater percentage of their income than rich people.

    3. I voted Republic to increase our nuclear stockpile so we can blow up the world even more times over.

    2. I voted Republic so we can tax people who work for a living at a higher rate than people who live off investment income.

The number one reason I voted Republic...

    1. I voted Republic because Fox News and Rush Limbaugh told me to.

Add two more, You vote Republican so you can have a speaker of the house who plays more golf (3 days a week) than you & you like that orange skin tone on him.

Your voting Republican because you want a party in office that says No to you more than your wife could ever do.

The delusional rantings of the left as they watch thier stranglehold on the United States slowly slipping away. Hey at least you guys were given a fair shake at the change thing but have proven only to have the ability to send the country futher down the drain and to do it much faster than those on the other side of the aisle.

    Thank you!

I cannot imagine casting a vote for any republican today. The poor have enough trouble without aid from the Republican Party!

As long as we continue to export our manufacturing jobs to other countries, we will continue to add to the multitude of poor people in the U.S.

Snowie.....I think you probably mean the unemployed (who are the NEW Poor)

Of course for loosing their jobs & enriching the already wealthy, they get to loose their homes, their savings, have family breakups & go bankrupt so that Wall Street can pay performance cough/gag bonuses to under performing companies who (if the Republicans had any sense would have closed their doors).

So lets continue to support this party of NO so we can completely bankrupt the country & put them all on welfare proper.

I have the solution to most of our problems.

Amend the Constitution to allow the private citizen to print money (as does the government) when he/she needs it.

Oh wait, that won't work, the Constitution only allows gold and silver coinage.

OK, I'm lost. Exactly how has the Democratic party aided in
    • stabilizing our country, and;
    • protecting and preserving our freedoms?
Aw, shoot! Ya'll we're hoping I forgot about that last one, huh? I hate it when the US Constitution gets in the way of a political party.

(BTW, I agree with a growing number of Americans: Both parties are a mess. The Republicans have us on the road to ruin in third gear. The Democrats have us on the same road, but we're in fifth gear).

And you can buy that Hank for 40% over the retail value on the Beck show. Watch for it....G Gordon Liddy does the Commercial & as I understand Beck gets a cut as well. Everyone wins & you feel secure.

They haven't....they are compliant with the Republicans.....forget this party nonsense. As far as I can tell, at this point the major differences in the traditional Political Parties has basically become their stance on gay marriage & even thats blurring. Both parties like to give away money they don't have and are unwilling to stand up to the special interests that fund them.

The question now is how do we get these same complicit politicians to make the fundamental changes that we need to make the system work. My hope is that in the coming years, we will see more and more people deciding that they have had enough and will enter into the political spectrum or push their neighbors and friends to do so. Thats what I'm doing now in my own town, fighting corrupt local politicians on the local level. I've been asked to run for Mayor but since I have had 2 heart attacks & theres other things wrong with my health, I cant do it. However we are going to pick someone who is honest & moral & competent for the position in my place.

So make sure you begin going to your local & town meetings.....maybe run for counsel but get involved in resolving corruption--whether its residing with the Republicans or the Democrats. Route it out (at the grass routes level where you have some say in the matter).

As long as unions want higher minimum wage - which in turn allows the unions to demand higher wages..

As long as there are countless ridiculous regulations - fed, state, and local - which ties up the owners time

As long as business taxes keep going up

As long as the govt tells a company who they can and cannot hire

As long as the govt allows unrealistic momentary awards to be given by juries - for nonsense actions

Than business will keep moving out of the USA

Even on a simple note: Rush Limbaugh and Thomas Golisano both moved from NY State to Fla - to avoid state income tax.
And Tom Golisano is no cheapskate - he has given millions to worthy charities here in NY, including to help build a childrens hospital in Syracuse.

Salty, you may actually believe this yourself, but I doubt you work in manufacturing. Almost all the large companies I have worked for in the past several years have moved most of their manufacturing plants to China for cheap labor. Surely you don't expect us to work for the same wages they pay in Asia!
