The visions of the Bible prophets are focused upon the Middle East for the coming time of the end of this present age

Current developments in the region are reflecting the set up for these visions to be fulfilled

    Jeremiah
30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

30:8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him

    Daniel
9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

9:27 And he [the Lord Jesus Christ] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he [the other prince that shall come] shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolator.

12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up [Revelation 12:7], the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

    Zechariah
12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about [the nations of the Middle East [Psalms 83; Ezekiel 38]], when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

13:8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts [of Israel] therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

13:9 And I will bring the third part through the fire [all of a believing remnant of Israel] , and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

14:2 For I will gather all nations [the surrounding nations of the Middle East] against Jerusalem [specifically the city of Jerusalem] to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity [scattered] , and the residue of the people [those of the believing remnant who will flee will return] shall not be cut off from the city.

14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

14:5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

    Matthew
24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains

    Luke
21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries [those of Israel still living in the nations] enter thereinto.

21:22 For these be the days of vengeance [the Lord’s hour [time] of trial and judgment against an intransigent world], that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land [of Israel], and wrath upon this people.

21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled [Revelation 11:2].

21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation [the generation living during the coming 70th week decreed for Israel] shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

21:35 For as a snare [suddenly with no warning] shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye [the believing remnant part of Israel] may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

    Romans
11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in [added to the church].

11:26 And so all Israel [the believing remnant part of Israel] shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. [Jeremiah 30; 31; Ezekiel 36; 37; 38; 39; Daniel 9:24; Micah 5]

    Revelation
12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman [Israel] clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars

12:5 And she brought forth a man child [the Lord Jesus Christ], who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness [the believing remnant part of Israel during the coming 70th week decreed], where she hath a place prepared of God, that they [the Lord, Michael, and his angles] should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels [Daniel 12:1],

12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman [his invasion of Israel at the middle of the 70th week decreed] which brought forth the man child [the Lord Jesus Christ].

12:14 And to the woman [the believing remnant part that will flee] were given two wings of a great eagle symbol of the Lord’s protection], that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time [last 1260 days of the 70th week decreed], from the face of the serpent.

12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood [his human armies] after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

12:16 And the earth helped the woman [Zechariah 14:4-5], and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

12:17 And the dragon [satan] was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed [those of the believing remnant of Israel still living in the nations during the last 1260 days of the 70th week decreed], which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

What current developments? And is it really necessary to quote miles of scripture in all your posts?

Do you ever watch the news related to geopolitical and religious movements on the earth?

I like the scriptures ..... do you?

    LargeTrout,
Welcome to the discussion and Thank you! Truth Files seems to be on a mission to impart all his knowledge at once!! For instance these verses he quotes cover two invasions of Israel separated by nearly 2000 years!!!
These "days of vengeance" have been ongoing for 1940 years and will continue until the invasion of Gog and Magog when Israel dwells in safety without village walls. Ezek.38-39.
Truth Files should show the difference between Matt.24:15 and Luke 21:20!
Luke 21:21 refers to Jews fleeing into the desert when the Romans invaded!!
The flight of Matt.24:16 will occur after armies invade Israel from the North!!!

IMO, It has not yet been realized that the "peace-time" invasion by Gog and Magog precedes the "false peace" of Dan.9:27 by an unknown period of time.

Of course I like the scriptures. I just don't see the point in making one or two short statements in a post followed by tonnes of verses. Just give the chapter and verse reference and people can go look for themselves. I had to read most of it just to see if you were going to elaborate on your first statements, hence my question of "what current developments", which you still didn't answer.

I do watch the news. Israel and Palestine are back at the table trying to thrash out a peace deal... yet again. Palestine's deal breaker is Israel's settlement building, which it is continuing to do. Also, Hamas (on the day the new talks started in the US) issued threats to start up attacks again.

Is the new peace talks your reason for posting this thread then? Is this the recent developments you were talking about? If so, why not discuss them more fully rather than copy-pasting a bunch of Bible verses?

Thanks for the welcome. And yes, I've noticed Truth Files many posts the last few days. He/she doesn't seem to want to discuss his/her opinions from what I've seen. It's just my nature, as a "prophet of doom" sceptic, to want to question someone when they talk of imminent disaster based on their interpretation of scripture.

Prophecy is difficult. It is not unusual for prophecy to jump in time. One verse might be concerning an event that is imminent, the very next verse may concern something that will not occur for many centuries to come, and then the next verse might return to speak of the first event that is imminent and may occur within a few days or years. You have to remember that when reading prophecy and compare it with all other scripture.

I believe some prophecy did speak of the Roman invasion in 70 A.D. as when Jesus spoke of the city being destroyed in the parable of the wedding in Matthew 22.

Matt 22:7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

This parable speaks of Jesus coming to his own (the Jews), but they received him not (John 1:11).

I believe there will be an invasion of Israel during the tribulation. This is imminent.

Zech 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

Preterists like to teach that all prophecy was fulfilled in 70 A.D., but this can not be so, because we see here the Lord will fight for Israel, not against it, and destroy these invading armies.

At this point there will be the millennium kingdom and Israel will live in peace for one thousand years. This is when Israel shall dwell in unwalled cities. Satan will be bound during this time. But he will be loosed and go out and deceive the nations and bring them against Israel once again, but God will destroy them with fire.

Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

So, I believe there are three separate invasions of Israel spoken of in prophecy, and you have to read and study carefully to determine which of these invasions is being spoken of.

This is true and the serious student of Bible prophecy pays attention to the structure and the details of the unique visions

Many of them follow the pattern as Winman describes it ..... revolving and repeating, breaches in the time line, historical reach backs, and with an overview that moves forward

This is the Lord's way of speaking through His Bible prophets and His own revelations

    Hi LargeTrout,

    Welcome aboard!

These posts of Scripture may be the only bible that some of the read-only folks on the BB actually read with their own eyes.

Stick around and you will see even whole chapters quoted.

FWIW, I for one am very glad when those who debate (this is a debate forum) use copious scripture fully quoted to prove their points.

Yes, it takes up band-width but Scripture is better than some of the other stuff that fills hyper-space.

    Winman,
I also believe there will be three invasions of Israel. One: By armies from the
North prior to the 70th "7" of Daniel 9:27. The first of TWO periods of so-called
"peace", IMO, will occur under the auspices of Mystery Babylon the Great, the
Harlot System that must be destroyed by Ten Kings after the FIRST period of
peace promoted when all religions join in bringing peace to the Middle East!
    You Believe:
It cannot be imminent because the nations hating Israel must first be forced
to realize they cannot beat Israel; so they will join them in the FIRST peace.
Under Mystery Babylon (centered at Rome), these nations will agree to peace
if Israel dismantles its walls. This FIRST peace may take another ten years!!
You also wrote and I agree:
That is why I keep returning to the need for a "temporary" peace that will be broken at Babylon's First Fall in One Hour by Ten Kings who hate Israel; but
realize they must work from within the System before they can seize the
global Network controls and enforce their own kind of "peace" with Israel
being given the right to build the third Temple...but under Gentile control!!!
