If burning Korans would endanger our troops what is going to happen because I deleted one from my computer awhile back?

Would a delete a Koran day be dangerous for our hard drives? :tongue3:

Our troops are in harm's way because our government placed them there. There is no other reason that needs to be given for it.

If Moslems were consistent only Q'rans in Arabic would matter.

Yes, Al-Qaeda has vowed to crash all hard drives that have deleted Korans.

Burning flags and Bibles is, according to some, a freedom of speech. Burning Korans, on the other hand, may be treason according to some of the same.

Burning flags, Bibles, and Korans are all examples of protected speech.

Burning Korans is something the President should shut up about!

I don't like to say it but it might have been a wise move on his part if you look at it this way.

The islamic nations of the world now know that the POTUS has officially declared that it is not a good thing to burn the koran.
The US press (both left and right) have also declared Jones a pinhead.

Perhaps by doing this he has quelled some of the violence that would have resulted from this act of poor judgment.

It's hard to believe we feel intimidated by Islam into speaking out against burning a stinking copy of the Koran because it might offend someone. It's even more difficult to believe that some people think this is actually going to buy us some good favor with them.

There is no buying good favor with that crowd.

They will grab any fig leaf that they can find to try to justify their aggression.

While the Rev. Terry Jones is crazy, he has a right to be crazy. We should not let radical terrorist Muslims prevent us from using our civil liberties.

It is an insult to our warfighters to say that they were put in harms way by the government. They volunteered. There is no draft now that I know of. Those who have gone to Afganistan and I've talked to 100s or more and they want to stop the attacks on America by taking out any of the threats.

You hear stories on utube or other places about soldiers saying they killed civilians in Iraq. Well, sorry folks but war is hell and if a soldier feels he is at threat by someone that threat has to be stopped. If a soldier admits on utube he killed innocent people at his officers command he can and should be punished. You are not required to follow commands that go against the rules that we laid down for the war. Its not the government's fault, it is the fault of the soldier who was trained in all the regulations regarding the war he entered.

There are pictures of a guy on a bicycle dead. Could it have been a miscalculation? Possibly, but we don't really know because the troops and their officers may have felt he was a suicide bomber. It only takes a few packages of C4 under a cloak to take out many soldiers and you can't risk it if they tell you to stop and they don't stop, or they act in a way that indicates they are attempting to blow up a maximum number of soldiers. In general, most Iraqi's and their kids love our soldiers and let their kids play with them. For pictures of that I have a whole pile of them in my work computer.

If some soldier comes back and appologizes because he killed a civilian then he was not following the guidelines set down for him by the Army studies he took and the Army Soldier's Handbook. It is his or her fault. The prison where people were photographs showed the soldiers were acting out of line was cleaned up and several were sent from the Army with charges and dishonorable discharges. Humans are humans and some will go overboard. All soldiers I have met who are in harms way in Afganistan have a deep feeling of getting rid of all threat to innocent Americans.

You have no idea of the attacks made by the Taliban on our government websites and I can't go into details; or the threats of other attacks on our homeland and those who travel abroad.

Don't insult our warfighters, please. They are doing their mission with as much patriotism as possible. Afganistan is a dangerous place, as Russia found out and had to leave, but our superior training, skills and weapons have kept the body count on our side much lower than Viet Nam or any war before it. The threats to us are many, and technology advancement important.

As to burning the Koran? They burn the Bible and American flags. Hasn't anybody studied history on how the Muslim's missions works? History repeats itself and they take over a country by infiltration, if that doesn't work by terrorism and war, then you are put under islamic law whether you like it or not. Read your history books.

If the Taliban strikes out at our soldiers, it helps make them a better target; so we don't have to go and find them at a higher risk. Our weapons and training is far superior and there will be some casualties in war. But, if we pull out you can expect more attacks on American citizens abroad and right here on the homeland.

We are keeping them too busy running to plot American targets here in America.

General Petaeus also needs to shut up about some people here possibly burning a stinking Koran somehow being responsible for putting troops in harms way.

I'm saying he's crazy. As I've said before, about 2% of the population is crazy. The government's main job is to protect our rights. All Federal officers and employees are sworn to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That includes the Bill of Rights. We can protect both rights to religious freedom and free speech.

BTW, I'm still waiting on an explanation of your foolish statement that all liberals have atheism as their preferred religion. I'm living proof that statement is false.

    It was hyperbole - obviously.

My guess would be though that the majority of atheists are liberal - if that makes you feel better.

Did something I say tick you off? Ask nice and I might explain. Otherwise, don't hold your breath waiting for an explanation with that kind of a demand - you'll pass out! Be careful who you call foolish!

I don't think he's crazy just because he wants to make a point by burning a Koran. Maybe he is and maybe he isn't but I don't think we know enough to say. We do know the political elite went crazy over what he said. Now he's been labeled a crazy, a bigot, a war starter, and more but we haven't actually heard much from him and probably won't!

I don't think the President has any business commenting about it. He's the one that may be really crazy based on his ideas of what's good for America! He does have a fondness for Islam it seems.

I think over 50% of the voters are crazy. If they weren't then Obama would never have become President.

Actually that's true. All of the atheists I've known are politically liberal. I knew one of them in high school and we'd agree on politics and disagree on religion. We also both collect coins and we talked about that a lot. He compared me to Jimmy Carter, which was a nice compliment. I love Jimmy Carter. :love2: I told him that it's amazing how someone can be so wrong on religion and so right on politics.

Can you please explain your statement that I disagree with?
