We have recently started a kids program on Wednesday's Called "Discovery Bible Clubs". It is a childrens program for kids ages 3 through the 6th grade. So far it has been great. We are averaging around 30-40 kids every wednesday, which is great.
But here is my problem. We can't get the bus kids back on Sunday. The program is designed to give awards for certain things, Bible Verse Memorization, Attendance, Bringing friends, things like that. The attendance also includes Sunday. The quarter runs 16 weeks and we set the requirement for getting the Sunday Attendance Pin at 14 out of 16 Sunday Mornings, which I don't think was asking too much. But so far we cannot get our bus kids back.
I know alot of it is due to the fact that the parents don't want to get them up and ready, and yes we have tried and tried to get the parents in church with no luck.
What I am wondering is simply this, is there something that I can do to get the kids back on Sunday? I have tried going and picking them up and they are not up or ready, or they just don't want to go?
    Any Suggestions?

It's tough to do this at all ages. They come on Wednesday night because they have a good time and they see value in it. So my question is what do you do with children on Sunday morning? Is the children's SS geared towards them to learn the Bible? Is there a children's church or whatever you may call it?

Some of the kids will never come on Sunday mornings, so for them (I know some here will disagree) the Wednesday night is really their Sunday morning.

You seem to run buses for them on Wednesday night, why not on Sunday morning also?

Don't worry about getting them to your Sunday services. Use the children's meetings as your outreach to them.

On Sunday Morning we have Sunday School, and Nursery for the little kids, but no children's church. One of the main reasons is the people who would run childrens church also run the wednesday Bible Club, and they don't want to miss anymore church services than they have to.
We do offere bus pickup on Sunday Mornings, well for all our services, it is just that when I go to pickup the kids they are not up or ready.

You are right though, for most of these kids, Wednesday may be their Sunday, so we do the best we can to teach them the Word of God and the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ.

Don't sweat it. Use the time you got. Sometimes you don't work for pins.

I am just back from our weekly Kids Klub. We are in our 13th year and have about the same numbers you are talking about. We have never tried to get them to Sunday. This is our ministry to and for them.

Through the years a few have been saved and some are in our church today.

Keep up the good work - don't sweat the Sunday thing.

Couldn't agree with Roger more. In Mexico many times the Wednesday evening service was the highest attended of the week, due to the fact that most folks worked six days a week and Sunday was their only day off to catch up on chores and visit family.

So we always made Wednesday a 'big day' for our church.
