2Ki 13:21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

So what unusual thing have you come across while reading the scriptures?

Funny you should ask this, because we just encountered something the other day we hadn't noticed before. Forgive me, I cannot remember the chapter and verse, but it had to do with Lazarus. After Christ raised him from the dead, the leaders wanted to kill Lazarus AND Jesus. I hadn't realized they wanted to kill Lazarus as well, but they did because he was living proof of Christ's miracle! We didn't find anything that mentioned what happened to him, but of course we know they crucified Jesus.

John 12:10 is the scripture you are referring too.

Evidently, I don't read very well, cause I had to go look that one up too and I know good and well I've read the book of John over several times and still missed that!

When Ezekiel saw his vision of God (Ez 8:1-3) and was sitting in his house talking with elders from Judah, a big hand picked him up by the hair of his head and lifted him somewhere between heaven and earth.

Can only imagine what the others thought.

(Rethinking my desire to be a prophet - that sounds really painful)

    2 Kings 9:8
For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:

Obesity is not just a recent epidemic!

    Judges 3:21-25
    (21) Ehud reached with his left hand, drew the sword from his right thigh and plunged it into the king's belly.
    (22) Even the handle sank in after the blade, which came out his back. Ehud did not pull the sword out, and the fat closed in over it.
    (23) Then Ehud went out to the porch ; he shut the doors of the upper room behind him and locked them.
    (24) After he had gone, the servants came and found the doors of the upper room locked. They said, "He must be relieving himself in the inner room of the house."
    (25) They waited to the point of embarrassment, but when he did not open the doors of the room, they took a key and unlocked them. There they saw their lord fallen to the floor, dead.

Mark 14:51-52 And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him: And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

The odd thing about my verse selection is that I didn't know it was Mark that ran away naked until recently. I guess that makes me odd.

(no comment from you Tim!)

Peter was gracious when preaching (remember, the Gospel of "Mark" was simply written down by him of sermons Peter preached. If it were me preaching, I might not have been able to pass up the golden opportunity to embarrass the dickens out of my assistant.

Or maybe Mark edited it a tad?

(For those wanting to know, in about AD 105-110 Papias in Phrygia taught that the true author of Mark's Gospel was Peter and Mark copied what Peter said. Sadly, we have no extant copy of this writing of Papias. But in about AD 295 Eusebius QUOTES from it in his writing and that has survived.

Mark was too young to be a disciple but one of the house-church meeting places in Jerusalem was at his mother's home, site as well of the last supper. Nearly 15 years later he did travel on part of the first missionary journey of Barnabas and Saul. Catholic theologians have tried to separate John Mark from Mark in order to tie him to Peter the first pope. I believe Mark, John Mark, and Mark the cousin of Barnabas are all the same person)

Seems to have been a common occurrence with his prophets to have been transported 'in the Spirit', and like Paul, I can't help but think that they the prophets themselves really didn't know if it was actually in the body or not. Regardless, it was real to them.

2 I know a man in Christ, fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I know not; or whether out of the body, I know not; God knoweth), such a one caught up even to the third heaven.
3 And I know such a man (whether in the body, or apart from the body, I know not; God knoweth),
4 how that he was caught up into Paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. 2 Cor 12

39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip; and the eunuch saw him no more, for he went on his way rejoicing.
40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached the gospel to all the cities, till he came to Caesarea. Acts 8

I was in the Spirit on the Lord`s day, and I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet Rev 1:10

....I heard, a voice as of a trumpet speaking with me, one saying, Come up hither, and I will show thee the things which must come to pass hereafter. Straightway I was in the Spirit: and behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and one sitting upon the throne; Rev 4:1,2

And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness: and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. Rev 17:3

And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, Rev 21 :10

12 Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of Jehovah from his place.
14 So the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away; and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; and the hand of Jehovah was strong upon me. Ezek 3

And he put forth the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the gate of the inner court that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy. Ezek 8:3

1 Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of Jehovah`s house, which looketh eastward: and behold, at the door of the gate five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.
24 And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. Ezek 11

The hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of Jehovah, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Ezek 37:1

In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me down upon a very high mountain, whereon was as it were the frame of a city on the south. Ezek 40:2

And the Spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of Jehovah filled the house. Ezek 43:5

And it will come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of Jehovah will carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he will slay me: but I thy servant fear Jehovah from my youth. 1 Ki 18:12

And they said unto him, Behold now, there are with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master, lest the Spirit of Jehovah hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send. 2 Ki 2:16

I'm in Ezekiel right now, and I don't know if I can lay on my side for 390 days (especially with no TV and no computer) :)

    Matthew 27
    51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Imagine a dearly departed loved one walking in on you one morning.

    Judges 15.

Samson catches 300 foxes, ties their tails together (2x2) and ties a torch to each duo. He turns them loose to burn the crops of his enemy.

Samson was not only strong, he was really fast.

    peace to you:praying:
