This will not be for every body. In fact it will not be for most. Only a few will be able to receive what this article says. As I watch and respond on this board it is ever so evident that there are only a very few who truly seek to know and walk with the Lord. In reading over topics and replies it is evident that most seek to lay claim to their rights rather then their callings. So unless you are given to surrender to the Lord I suggest that you stay away from this writing as it is not for you. If you feel and understand what this says feel free to coment on what is written in this article.

Before I comment on what is written, by bringing this to our attention, you've staked your claim to being a part of the very few. A fact I am sure you are very proud of.

The phrase "others may but you may not" reminds me of my father when I told him that "everyone" was doing something.

But more than that it reminds me of what was preached at my ordination service.

The article is completely true. Everyone should lead a Christian life as described. The problem is that your attitude and opinions of Scripture are not part of the principles talked about. The Bible is not a book of rules to be memorized and obeyed on your own power. It is the Word of God. For you to ally yourself with the article and exclude others on this board is the height of the ridiculous.

    A good article. Very true.

Still trying to figure out why freeatlast thought most might want to stay away from the article...

I found this humerous from the article. Maybe "freeatlast" is not really one of the few?

    Wow...you actually said this.

Thank Junior Holy Spirit for blessing us with your thoughts and discerning eye. Perhaps you can provide us a list (which you clearly have) about who's in and who's out.

That would make it easy for the rest of us underlings, wouldn't it...

So, who is superior in God's eyes Mr. Freeatlast?

To be fair, he didn't claim to know who was superior in God's eyes.

No but I can provide you with a test.
2Cor 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

The question that we all should then ask is HOW do I test myself? The answer is this.

13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

The we is not we apostles, but we who are really of the faith. That is the test of the faithful. They stand only for truth no matter what it may cost them.

Since you like to use Scripture to demean others, try these.

Matt 6:5 And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray in the synagoges and on the corners of streets to be seen by men.

Matt 7:3 Why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in yours?

I am not sure of your point with the Matt 6:5 reference.

However I am aware of your suggestion with the matt 7:3 passage although it is clear that you do not understand it.

So let me ask you, if you suggest that me blindly giving scripture is of the devil and you do it knowinly in a willful spirit who has the greater sin?

It is quite clear to me from your response to this and other threads that you do not have a clue. The reference to Matt 6:5 is you obviously and knowingly making yourself the center of attention by the wording of your posts. Matt 7:3 has nothing to do with the work of the devil. It has to do with the fact that you seperate yourself from others based on an ill perceived notion that your righteousness exceeds others. What you are doing is pointing an accusing finger on your own pedestal of your own goodness. The purpose of the verse is to put Matt 7:1 in context. If you were truly concerned about the faults of others, you would go to them privately, and in a Christian manner, and point it out to them. You would not do it in a manner that received praise from men, or if not praise, the attention of men.

Based on your [edit] belief there would be no church or preachers.

Thank you freeatlast, for that link.

It reminded me of a small booklet that I was given at Sunday School a hundred years ago, that was simply entitled “I”.

As I thumbed through it’s 15 or 20 pages, it brought up personal challenges of Holiness for Christians. I received a great blessing from it also.
    --------------------------------------------------
Everyone in our class had been given a copy and over time I lost mine.

If anyone here has heard of this booklet, could you please let me know where I might find another copy.

Freeatlast, are you a Baptist? On your profile, your denomination says "Christian" so I just wondered.

Ah yes the old love for the denomination above the love for Christian. Just another sign of the times. I have been a member of a baptist church for over 25 years. By the way what kind of baptist do you feel meets the standard?
    7th day baptists
    northern baptists
    southern baptists
    reformed baptists
    Primitive baptists
    fundamental baptists
    charismatic baptists
    separate baptists
    free will baptists
    regular baptists
    separate baptists in Christ
    old regular baptists
    missionary baptists
    old time missionary baptists
    six principle baptists
    baptists that handle snakes

and many more. As a matter of fact I saw one place that said there was over 300 different types of baptists. which one does Christ pick? or is being a Christian enough?

You are out of line. This is the Baptist Board. There are rules for posting in the Baptist Only section of the Baptist Board. One of those rules is that you belong to a Baptist Church. Since your profile doesn't indicate you belong to a Baptist Church, then it is reasonable to ask if you belong to a Baptist Church.

You just assume the worst motivations for everyone.

    peace to you:praying:

I read the article, "Others May, You Cannot", in the Oct. Acts and Facts.

I enjoyed it much then and here as well. This article is so Biblical, it isn't our glory or our honor but His', we are to do as he guides.

This quote is hard on a lot of us today, many of us think the degree trail in education is the answer or the great looks and so on, but God used Peter and used him well, and in our time he used Ironsides, Tozer, Moody and many more to such, much better than better educated people. By the way Tozer wasn't a great word smith, but God used his preaching for many to come to saving knowledge and salvation, when there was many a better wordsmith out there.

"God may let others be great, but keep you small. He will let others do a work for Him and get the credit, but He will make you work and toil without knowing how much you are doing. Then, to make your work still more precious, He will let others get the credit for the work which you have done; this to teach you the message of the Cross, humility, and something of the value of being cloaked with His nature."

Can we always say amen and how great it is when others gets credit for what we do? I have failed at that point many times, woe is me. It has taken years for me to learn it is God's will and it is going to be God's way, who cares who gets the credit as long as all is done for the glory of God. As I said it has taken me years to learn that and from time to time I might still slip up.

abcgrad94 was not being totally honest. The statement was true but information was left out so I stand on what I posted. My prophile says what church I attend and always has so you are the one out of line since this was totally none of your business.
