Weather and Joints and Muscles

Definitely. Muscles here...cold helps. I have a lot of inflammation in my body and that includes my heart, so lately I've been putting a cold gel pack to use for the chest pain that comes with extra humidity.

Guess you could say I'm truly cold-hearted! :laugh:

 

I understand the affects of injuries, but I often wonder about how much our mental attitude affects how we feel about weather changes. Just a thought.

Mentally, I love silvery rain and sparkly snow. Both are beautiful. My body just doesn't!
It doesn't like full moons either, that usually means a migraine. (as do barometric pressure changes) Funny thing is this: my primary doctor doesn't believe the moon phases affect migraines, but my neurologist does.

 

As I said in my opening sentence...I recognize injury as a fault.

In gneral though, I see many attitudes surrounding weather changes. Shucks, even the weather people miss the mark.

Since my strokes, I feel all the cold. Before that I could go out in a t-shirt and cut firewood at 30 below.

Migraines have always been a medical question. Some say yes, many say no...only the sufferer can know for certain, and who am I to doubt what they feel?

You know the expression, "Mind over matter"! I am just wondering where that fits.

My joints always let me know the day before it rains. I've stopped listening to the weather man because my joints are actually more accurate than his forecast.

Jim, as to our like/dislike of certain weather, that doesn't play a part in my arthritis, but the dark days of winter do make me get blue.

 

I usually get a migraine when we have a strong cold front coming thru. At first I thot it was just coincidence, but I have several friends who are affected the same way. I can actually feel the headache lift when the weather front goes thru.

 

Same here! I can watch what I eat and drink and how much sleep I get for the most part, but I can't control those fronts!

 

Well I have this problem longer then I can to really remember.

I can't even convince my doctor of what I am saying but my pain is throughout my whole body.
Sometimes the pain is so bad it leaves me immobile on the couch for about an hour or 2.

The weather here is changing constantly lately that I haven't even been able to sleep correctly now from the pain I feel trying to get to sleep.

I'm one of those people that also tells the weather better then the forecasters. LOL!!!

 

My knees get really sore when it's really cold outside. One of my knees is bad and is prone to slipping or dislocating when kneeling. It hasn't slipped since I was a teenager because I know when to catch it before it happens. I feel like an old woman in the winter walking around with sore joints and knees.
