I just got an email from friends in Tennessee. They got snow overnight. Looks like we're behind already.

We are not prepared to send snow over to NY yet. We have already had two snowfalls.......they melted before they hit the ground, but still snow..........lol

    Cheers,

    Jim

Thank you neighbor to the North. We've had a handful of those snow events as well.

Here in Paducah, Kentucky, we are preparing to tough it out once more.

The average seasonal snowfall is 10.2 inches.

The snowiest winter was 35 inches in 1977-78, with 24 inches of that falling in January 1978. I remember that year. Schools were out for 42 days.

The least snowfall in the winter was a trace in 1991-92.

I'll take the snow over the ice storm we had in January 2009. Some folks were without power for three weeks and more.

two years ago, we had 4 feet of snow two days in a row for a total of 8 feet of snow. That was fun...not much stopped. I still went to village for morning coffee.

    Cheers,

    Jim

PS. We share our snow with Watertown and Syracuse,,,most of the time.

Once it's over 8, it doesn't matter much whether you're talking meters or feet

Unless you are south of the good ole Mason-Dixon line - than they think inches - Unless you are in Fla than its milimeters

Salty, I was a sales engineer & so I would travel with the local sales people throughout NY & NJ to assist them in the more technical elements of given products in the line. (IE I was the traveling corporate guy with all the answers ...I changed the wording a little...LOL).

I was in Upstate every 4-6 weeks for a week... Syracuse, corning, Rochester, Albany, Buffalo, Elmira, Binghamton etc.
