To those following the TD Jakes thread, I wanted to take a moment to apologize for my response to the troll in that thread and helping him to derail that thread and eventually leading to it's closure.

If you look at my threads, I think you'll see that I'm not prone to such outbursts, but I did lose my temper when my church was slandered and four Godly men were attacked unfairly and for that, I am deeply sorry.

I will try to do better in the future.

The best advice I got, when apologizing, is to never do it with a "but" or it's not apologizing, but defending.

1 John 4:9. To confess, is basically to say the same thing as God says about sin. I've never prayed then had a disclaimer in it, with an implied but, when apologizing or confessing.

JohnDeereFan...no worries, it was evident who was causing problems and who was not. Seems it is evident on this new thread of yours as well.

Your reading comprehension is in question. He says he usually tries to keep his tone correct, but he messed up this time. In this case, the "but" isn't a defense, but an admission.

I think you owe him an apology.

No, my reading is just fine. Look, I don't want to go down this road.

I am simply making an observation.

If apologies are due, and they are, there should never be a but in it, a rehash of "you did this" whether true or not, but simply say "I was wrong" and leave it there.

I am willing to do this the right way.

That is all I am saying.

What's you deal man? He wasn't apologizing to you to begin with. He was apologizing to the rest of us that were following the thread. I accept his apology.

Can't you just leave well enough alone? You caused trouble on that thread, now you cause it here.

Now, if you'd like to start your own apology thread (which is probably in order) you can "do this the right way".

I've said what I said. Nothing more needs to be said about it.

I am going to go out on a limb here, but I think it is probably his being called a "troll" amongst the apology that bothered him.

Seriously though, lets not start the entire mess from the other thread all over again.

How about everyone agrees to disagree about the other thread, and the apology, and we put this to rest.

You hit it on the head. That is what it is.

I won't bother with this nonsense. If anyone has issue, PM it or you won't hear about it.

My stance on proper apology stands.

Dude, cool it. Two Christian men, and preachers at that, going after each others neck here on a public board is uncalled for. Put your ego aside and call your brother to a private discussion to resolve the ought you have against one another. Live up to your high calling in a manner befitting of the Spirit of the God you call upon, represent and serve.

It seems like he did leave it alone hours ago, so I fail to see the need to bring up up again.

And quite honestly while both men each had a share in the direction of that closed thread, I fail to see why everyone is coming down so hard only on preacher4truth on this thread, and frankly it feels unfair and one sided.

If the entire reason for this thread was an apology to everyone at the forum, that would have best been accomplished without calling anyone a troll. What possible purpose did doing that serve on this thread?

And again while I agree both men share in equal responsibility for their behavior in the other thread, keep in mind while judging him, it was preacher4truth who had his salvation openly questioned, called a liar, and if I understood the implication of one other post correctly (I sure hope i didn't) before it was deleted, he was called a liar as proof he was the son of his father. The implication of that is a horrible and is one of the worst things I have ever read on this board.

I was slandered at least three times by the brother publically apologizing now.

As far as I am concerned, from this moment on it never happened. The next time I cross paths with him on a thread I will welcome the chance to start all over.

    Peace.

All of y'all need to stop. I have never witnessed such juvenile behavior from adult Christian men as I do here on the BB. Preachers behaving in such a way.
