In another thread this statement was made:

"If you come to this country illegally, then you shouldn't get the same protections as a citizen"

The subject was illegals working in a sweat shop at below minimum wage. Do you agree with that?

Now, should illegals have any "rights" suppose an illegal is robbed of her purse at gunpoint. Should the local police not worry about it? Suppose she was sexual1y assaulted. Would that make a difference?
Hmmm. sounds like an interesting topic

and please, those from other countries, please weigh in esp from the point of view of your country.

Are we not a moral country where crimes , even perpertrated on illegals, have no impact? Certainly not! The illegial issue just complicates it for the system that is not fully prepared to handle the overflow of crime that is burdining the judicial system.

When you say rights it can be deceiving. Illegal should not be working at all and those who hire them should be in prison with them. Our laws should not change if someone is harmed even an illegal. The person committing a crime against an illegal should be arrested along with the illegal and the illegal should be in jail and not working so they should have the rights of any person who is here illegal and that right should be jail time.
    This is what is needed:
First illegal offense 5 years without parole or good time and while in prison working to support themselves as well as working enough to help support the regular population and then deported after time served.
Second offense 10 years no parole or good time conditions same as first.
Third offense life without parole hard labor.
Problem legally and morally solved!

By law, you have to pay at least minimum wage even if you break the law by hiring illegal aliens. I'll post more after I get back from church.

I would add that Legal Citizens who live on the border should be covered by "Stand and Defend" as well as "Castle Doctrine" Laws. As well as "No Tresspassing - Violators may be shot on sight"

This way if drug smugglers try to cross an Armed Citizen's property we won't have to wait for the fed's to turn them loose or their drugs and weapons to get on our streets.

We are *STUPID* to treat this as a rights issue!

It is an armed invasion by hostile parties.. And, until we treat it as the threat that it is, WAR, we will never have security as a Nation.

And, if they can get drugs and people in... Why not multiple WMD's?

Wow....you live in a fantasy land! Take a walk around the neighborhood. better yet, take a trip to New Jersey & I will personally walk you around. I will give you an education you never dreamed. Start at Newark, then Elizabeth, then Harlem , Dover & even my town. You will want to strangle Clinton, Bush & Obama.

But my point, there here to stay. Bedbugs & all!

I am not interested in shooting someone on sight for trespassing. I would detain them for the authorities, but if I felt threatened I would not hesitate to shoot them.

    Yes, I generally agree.

But, If I saw drug dealers with Uzzi's or Mac-10's I think it would be more of a shoot first ask questions later.

This is what I was referring to in regards to it being a War Zone...

Even the human traffickers tend to be better armed then our Border Patrol Agents.

But, that level of precision would best be left to a USMC Sniper. Of course a SEAL Operator could get a lot closer... :)

Let it be known that whoever carries a weapon across the border or picks one up is a target...

That the law imposes a minimum wage upon employers does not equate to an illegal alien having a right to a minimum wage.

The law also says that the illegal aliens may not work.

Yes it does. If an employer pays an illegal alien less than minimum wage, he is breaking two laws.

"But my point, there here to stay. Bedbugs & all! "

Turn up the heat and you get rid of bed bugs. Same with the illegals.

One of the Mexican states is complaining to the US becasue of the AZ law is self deporting so many illegals to their state that their system cannot take care of all of them.

Heat works. Giving up is giving up anyway you do it.

"Nine state legislators from the Mexican State of Sonora traveled to Tucson to complain about Arizona's new employer crackdown on illegal’s from Mexico. It seems that many Mexican illegal’s are returning to their hometowns and the officials in the Sonora state government are ticked off. A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora was in Tucson on Tuesday to state that Arizona's new Employer Sanctions Law will have a devastating effect on the Mexican state."

Humm maybe they should have protected their northern board like the do the south long years ago.

It was reported on radio last week as well.

    You miss my point.

That the employer is breaking two laws - hiring an illegal alien and not paying an employee minimum wage still does not translate into the illegal alien having a right to the minimum wage.

The answer y'all are skipping over is yes. Illegal aliens do have rights here in the USA. More so than citizens.

The problem is we have allowed these people to come here for years to use their cheap labor. Now, you want to put them all in prison? Well, we better start building more prisons pronto! There is no way our system can deal with millions and millions of people being added to our prison population.

The way to deal with this problem, in my opinion, is to enact and enforce laws stopping the hiring of illegals. If there is no work, many will return to their country of origin of their own free will. Now, the ones who stay and turn to crime to survive; these are the ones to put in prison.

I disagree - stop all govt payments ie welfare, food stamps, ect - require proof of citizenship for schooling - both K-12 and college

How about proof of citizenship to run for the office of the President of the U.S.?

    We don't even require that!
