This is an obscenity. Yep, Barack, keep caving into your Republican friends. Talk like Franklin Roosevelt and act like Bill Clinton. I wonder how much this will add to the debt. They should have just let the whole thing expire if the Republicans wouldn't pass a middle class tax bill. If they acted strong, the Republicans would have to cave, but the Democrats are too sissified to stand up to the GOP.

Not a red cent. Maybe if they would stop spending money like it grew on trees, we would be able to do something about the debt. But letting people keep the money they earn? That's not adding to the debt.

It's real simple....don't spend more than you take away from people in taxes. If you follow that simple rule then you won't have more debt.

Wow. That's just enormously...wow. Allowing the tax cuts to continue, thereby putting money in the consumer's hand to spend on goods and services, thereby keeping businesses producing goods and services and employing personnel to generate those goods and services...is going to increase the debt.

Maybe that's why I only got a B in economics.

Lets see, do you remember back in 1988 "Read My lips, no new taxes" Bush lost the '92 election in part, because he did cave into the Democrats.
Suppose the same fate will hound Obama (maybe he will try to divert attention away from his proposed tax increase by "finding" his birth certificate)

What will actually happen is that American consumers will be able to continue to buy stuff made in China so that China can buy the debt of the United States government.

I hope no one is holding his breath waiting for either major party to deal substantively with the yearly over $1 trillion budget deficit. The GOP doesn't have the guts to cut over $1 trillion in spending. The Democrats don't have the guts to raise taxes by over $1 trillion. And neither major party wants to compromise and meet somewhere in the middle since they see no political advantage to be had in solving the problem. They both want to use it to blame the other side.

    Almost un-American, isn't it?

Certainly un-democratic, as our young leftist friend continues to reveal the depth of his liberalism. This, after trying to hide it for so long.

The unemployed serfs get another year of unemployment and the people who get the equivalent of 100 or 1000 times minimum wage get 2 years protection. What leverage will the working people have in the 2nd year? probably none.

Last time I checked Democrats controlled Congress. The Republicans are undermining democratic rule by filibustering everything. I guess your hypocrisy has no end. I'm glad I'm driven by principle, unlike you.

Three years of unemployment - in that time a skilled worker will be behind his trade if at all able to work or the trade will have disappeared - so we will then have to retrain them as well most likely.

I'd guess many of these will qualify for the free year of mortgage payments the feds are giving away as well.

Japan is going to win economically when they forclose on us with China.

Dream on. You're driven by leftist ideology.

I am an unabashed conservative and make no secret of it.

So...Come on out of the closet, Lefty, and stop pretending you're principled.

You're fooling no one here...but yourself.

That "skilled worker" better learn how to push a pencil. The high cost of union labor has priced them right out of the manufacturing business.

    LOL

    "Progressive" :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Talk about hypocrisy. You can't even make yourself say what you really are, a far left liberal ideologue.

Out of the closet at last. Congratulations.

That may be the first honest post you've written here.

    Why, that is just horrible!

I can't believe that some of you would actually think that you deserve to keep what you earn. You are so hard-hearted that you don't realize that you owe it to every other American to share your wages with them, and then you don't realize that the things you have purchased don't actually belong to you! You must pay money to the government to allow you to keep possession of those things.

    Its for the children!

You owe it to those people who carry union cards to pay them enough money that they can afford to have more children. It doesn't matter what kind of price is put on their products - pay it! It is for their families!

How can you be so cruel as to think that everyone is responsible to get an education and find a job? Not eveyone had the same opportunities in life that you did. After all, they went to different schools and had different parents than you guys did, so obviously they had no opportunities like all of you did. It's only fair!

(If I keep this up, can I get a "progressive" ID?)

While $850 may not seem like much...

To some of you rich liberal socialists...

Far too many of us in the middle class have seen all of our earning "head room" eroded to nothing during the past few years... And, an extra $71 a month in outlay every month *will* hurt most of our budgets.

Except for you rich liberal socialists...
