Moderators, I would love to have a simple, informative poll where we just click on a choice to show our level of education.

This is not intended to cut anyone down or raise anyone up. My intentions are that we CELEBRATE what God has done in the lives of the men and women who frequent this board.

Please moderate heavily the posts that may come in a negative fashion.

    Let the poll speak.

My degreed education is a Masters in Missiology. I studied a course for an Advanced M.Div, but pulled up short in the final year and graduated with the Master's. I have done post graduate work at the doctoral level and intend to get my D.Miss. eventually (a terminal degree that will allow me to teach at the seminary level). I also have credit hours in other fields, such as dairy science, automotive repair and body, computer programming, mechanical design, and facilities management.

I have an undergraduate degree and master's degree from Northeast Louisiana University. That university trained me very well. I am proud of about 80% of what I was taught there. I also have a +30 (second master's degree) from Texas A&M University and about 25 hours from there towards a Ph.D. in math education.

What did all of this do for me? It made me a better teacher. It made me want to continue to strengthen my craft. It made me a better Sunday School teacher. My education, coupled with my experience, made me competent enough to train others in my field.

Did all of that education make me a wiser person? Probably not. Experience does that so much better. My own mother, the former beauty queen and hair dresser - who only got a high school diploma from a tiny hick town, is infinitely wiser than me.

I bow to her superior discernment on any topic on any day of the week. I may have to supply some details to her about some topics, but her higher order thinking is phenomenal and she possesses a wisdom that, to me, can only be described as a gift.

There's something to be said for a quality education. I think it's important. And there's something also to be said for knowledge, wisdom, and character development that comes from the school of hard knocks

I completed one semester (over 5 years) from Central Texas College - most of classes were overseas. My major was military management.

In addition I have completed several military supply and NCO schools.

I hold a BBA in Finance and a MBA, both from a State University. I do not see myself ever going back, unless the Lord calls me sometime into a full time ministry.

Well, you left out the option for Associate's degrees so I voted highschool plus, though its not exactly accurate.

I hold an Associate's degree in Engineering but actually have 3 years in toward that degree. Its not something I plan on finishing, the Lord led in a different direction.

The poll options were only 10. That sort of limited choices, but your work would fall into the category you picked.

What did you study at Mississippi State? I spent the 2001-02 academic year there as a candidate for a master's in math, but could not keep a high enough GPA.

    BS Mathematics Auburn University
    MS Mathematics Troy University

Some additional post-graduate hours in mathematics. Unfortunately I have already, in the past 23 years forgotten more than I ever learned. :)

    Go Gators!!!!!

    Middle grades.

In TN, passing the Middle School Content Knowledge Praxis II exam results in highly-qualified status for core areas (social studies, science, math, and language arts) in grades 4-8. I passed this test, but I also have enough hours to be highly qualified in history 7-12, but getting a job teaching history isn't very likely in this area.

I'm trying to get a teaching position for next fall teaching on a transitional license. I'd be happy to teach any of the core areas, but I'd prefer science the least. Math, however, I would greatly enjoy.
