By God's grace i have just finished shooting and am now in the final phase of editing my first 6 part DVD Bible study series. There are 4 discs containing 6 hour loSng sessions. Should i attach a cost to them or give them away for free as i feel prompted to do? something about selling Gods word doesnt sit right with me.

I can appreciate your sentiments about charging. However ultimately I think that it is a question that you can only answer for yourself.

I do not see what is wrong with selling at least for the cost of the materials and the production of the product. If you wish to give it away that is fine as well but if you are not wealthy, do not feel guilty for being able to at least recoup the costs.

I have seen where people who did not want to charge, did accept voluntary donations to help offset the cost the material.

Do not feel bad about charging. If you are a minister, and I am assuming you are since you are making videos teaching scripture, then your good stewardship of the profits can be used to further the kingdom, through your ministry. I look at such things as "ministry funders" that help keep a person from having to beg for money.

This sounds like a good idea in that people are not obligated. But sometimes when things are free or cheap they are not valued. What do u think?

Myself, I would pray about it and ask God to give you the wisdom to make the best decision.

In what setting will you be giving them (or selling them)? That could make a difference as to the perceived value to begin with.

I would suggest you read Luke 10:7, and get back to me

Simply tell the folks that the proceeds from the sale will go to your favorite ministry.

    Yours
