Nativitie is the third in a series of seven interlinked sonnets in John Donne's La Corona. I've found little English poetry as beautiful or profound as that of Donne's.

 

Blessed Merry Christmas!!!!

 

Today is sacred.

Not because of the origin of the holiday (we know it was pagan but Christ's brilliant glory overcame the dim artificial glory of those false gods and Christ took the holiday unto himself).

It is sacred because of what we remember. Do this day in remembrance of Christ.

Don't fuss today.

Don't argue with anyone.

Let this day be holy from the time you awake to the time you retire.

Fix your mind upon Jesus and love those around you vehemently today.

Sign your name to the end of this day knowing that your heart was true (Casting Crowns).

Don't think about your troubles today- none of them.

If a loved has gone on- do not be depressed. If they knew Christ they celebrate this day with the one who it is all about!

Do as they do- worship him all day today.
