    Many have complained about what Congress has done since the election - they knew if they did not pass certain laws -than it would not happen after the new Republican Congress took office in January.

    I propose that effective immediately that the newly elected congress take office on Dec 1. In addition, any bill that must be passed between election day and Dec 1, would need a 60% super majority to pass.

    Thoughts?

    But a 2/3 majority might be even better.

    But then Republicans would not have time to file law suits that their newly elected black president was not a real American.

    Won't be of much value, Salty. 90% of the stuff that Congress passes will probably still not pass constitutional muster, regardless of the date it is done.
