Neocons, neolibs, and security extremists will not like reading what Harry Browne had to say, even though they are the folks most in need of understanding and taking to heart what he wrote.

What Can We Do About Terrorism?

    by Harry Browne

The late Harry Browne wrote three articles on terrorism, here collected into one, immediately after 911. At a time when other libertarians stayed silent or championed the regime, he – as usual – spoke truth to power.

The Ground Rules for Fighting Terrorism

This 3-part series will propose the actions I believe our government should take to fight terrorism.

Before looking at those proposals, however, we need to establish some ground rules.

    Perfection Isn't an Option

Rule #1: No solution is going to be perfect.

Common sense is a language most folks in this country have forgotten long ago Ken.

I reckon we've just all been to busy rallying behind our government and planning the next regime change to pay common sense any mind at all.

The flaws in Brownes thinking are too numerous to delineate.

Suffice it to say that his article is just more Socialist Liberal Progressive claptrap that says Aemrica is Bad, everything we do is bad, and if we'd just changes our ways all the bad guys would play nice...

You all do know that Harry Browne was the Libertarian presidential candidate a few years ago? And Lew Rockwell is president of the Ludwig von Mises Institute"

Lew is actually the founder and chairman of the Mises Institute.

You have to bear in mind that some people who support the neocon interventionist foreign policy have a tendency to lump everyone who disagrees with them in with liberals/socialists/progressives/brigands/whatever.

Of course, these interventionists are supporting a foreign policy that our founding fathers, who were libertarians, warned against.

And, thank you, SMM, for proving the statement with which I began this thread. :)

"If we may generalize from their conclusions, it is this: though Rand calls herself an Objectivist, and appears to reject important aspects of Austrian economics—apriorism and subjective value theory—and claims that a scientific ethics may be derived from an individual's right to life, Ayn Rand was essentially an Austrian and a Misesian."
