If you are reading this thread - you probally have a favorite Major League team. If so, do you also root for the teans in there farm system?

If you live in a minor league city, do you normally root for your major league affiliate - What if your team finds a new parent team?

FYI spring training begins Feb 13
    Opening Day is March 31
All Star Game 12 Jul, 2011, Phoenix

    Take the minor league quiz

No, I don't root for my major league's farm system's team. I do keep up on the prospects down on the farm.

Here's the difference between minor and major leagues. Denard Span of the Rochester Red Wings and Denard Span of the Minnesota Twins.

    I laughed when I saw this.

We have a farm team for the Mariners near us, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Normally, I do root my our Major League affiliate, which currently is the Washington Nationals. Our local team is Class AAA, the Syracuse Chiefs of the International League.

In addition, I normally root for the entire farm system:

    Class League City Nickname Note
    AA Eastern.Harrisburg..Senators..cousin lives there
-A CAROLINA Potomac Nationals Brother lives near
    -A SAL Hagerstown Suns
-A NYP Auburn Doubledays near Syracuse

I keep up with them but I don't really root for them much because there's just not any coverage and it's hard to get behind a team emotionally when you don't get to watch or listen to the games.

However, minor league teams I do follow:

    Camden Riversharks
    Wilmington Blue Rocks
    Aberdeen Iron Birds

When I was a kid, at least once a week, my dad and I or my grandfather and I (or sometimes all three of us) would go watch the Barons play. Rickwood Field was such a terrific stadium.

I follow the Winston-Salem Dash and go to their games since they have a brand new stadium here in town, but I don't root for their major league affiliate which is the White Sox. It used to be the Reds so I kind of pulled for them at times because my grandparents are huge Reds fans.
