    And if you're ever in Birmingham, if Vulcan's torch is red, that means there has been a traffic fatality in the city. If it's green, that means all is well.

    There is a Birmingham, Alabama of which I reside in the rural outskirts

    Vulcan is a statue in the (more or less) central part of the city but can be seen from quiet some distance due to the land lay of the area surrounding

    And the largest cast iron statue in the world! I am glad they decided to preserve the old boy instead of sending him to the scrap heap :)
