Proverbs 6:16 There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
    17 haughty eyes,
    a lying tongue,
    hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

Sometimes we need to be reminded even myself of what God hates, what else does He hate or detest?

My other question would be what is the difference between debating and dissension?

This is one word many believers "hate". The word hate is hated by many, if you apply it to God. They see this in some way as an attach on God. But it is clear God can and does hate.

What he hates is sin. Now many would divide the sin from the sinner. But this cannot be done. Without a sinner, there is no sin.

    Jarthur,

How do we then think about God and his "feeling" towards us after becoming a believer? In light of the fact that we still sin?

That sin is covered by Christ and is never accounted to us. We are of the beloved.

Amen! I totally agree. This thing today (hate the sin, but love the sinner) that is being told to believers is not of the Lord.

    Just

    2 Corinthians 5:
16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[Or Christ, that person is a new creation.] The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[Or be a sin offering] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Are we told to love one another and that vengeance is the Lord's?

Sometimes we need to be reminded even myself of what God hates, what else does He hate or detest?

My other question would be what is the difference between debating and dissension?

If God doesn't hate anyone, why does He say He does?

Leviticus 20:23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.
