Prayer need

I realize that this is not the place for prayer requests, but I think it is appropriate to post it here because it is missions-related. I also want to say that I am not soliciting anything but prayer.

From 1999-2008 we were missionaries to the deaf in Mexico. By God's grace, we planted a church for the deaf, trained a pastor, built a building, and organized the church before God called us to our present position.

Unfortunately, with the disorganization caused by the drug war (and it is literally a war now) in Mexico, many of our deaf folks lost their jobs and the church has suffered a decline. The pastor is struggling to support his small family by doing outside work. Sadly, some outsiders (i.e. non-members) are making life difficult for him by gossiping about him and they are having an adverse affect on his morale.

My pastor/friend/son-in-the-faith is ready to walk away.

He is not the only pastor to the deaf struggling right now. I am also aware of another deaf church that has been in existence for over 25 years in another part of the country that is also struggling.

I believe that part of the problem is also that our brethren are being bombarded every day with the images and stories of those murdered, kidnapped, and robbed- and that is affecting them in getting their eyes off of what God can do.

Would you please pray with me for Mexico and specifically for Pastor Francisco and his wife Elizabeth? As well as for the other deaf church that is struggling?

Thanks Ann. i just sent it to her. I don't know your last name so I just told her your hubby is on staff and planting a new church so she should know who I am referring to.
