Many members of Congress are planning on ignoring the tradition of sitting by political party and intermixing as much as possible.
Some here in NY are thinking about getting all the NY Reps to sit together - intermixed by political party. What are your thoughts about this?

Also, did you know that one member of the Cabinet is always missing from the Speech?
    Do you know why?

And for the same reason, I would like to see two senators, 2 Congressman, 1 Supreme Court Justice and 1 General of the Joint Chief of Staff with the Cabinet member.

I think that the Democrats pulled a fast one on a bunch of freshman Republicans... Getting them to sit side-by-side was a strike of genius proportions. It made it appear as if everyone was in awe of and agreeing with the President on virtually every point he made.

Shame on those who were elected to make a difference. They have already failed a major test. And, they failed that test by responding (a feminine trait) to another trumped up Liberal charge -- that political (especially from the Right, and Sarah Palin in particular) rhetoric was the cause for the shooting in Tulsa. Shame on them again for buying into that re-defined version of the truth.

As for the speech? It was delivered very well. I'll give Obama an A+ for his style and delivery. The substance was not even too bad at first glance, until one starts examining just what Obama means when he says things like "freeze" and "invest." Freeze already through the roof spending? Invest, means simply spend more. From where? We don't have it. We're broke.

Work together? Right... Republicans should have told Democrats to sit in the back of the room like they were told after the Presidential election...

I would say invest would have more a connotation, to spend wisely to increase your return

PS this post does not indicate an endorsement of the speech.
