There's a young woman on another board I go on who's seriously questioning God right now and she goes to Shorter University. I've never even heard of it but I was hoping someone would know a solid Christian young woman who would be able to disciple her. Anyone??

Shorter is a small Baptist university (affiliated with SBC), only about 1500 students, located in Rome, GA, which is in the north part of the state. I used to know people (or at least knew people who knew people), but really don't anymore. Seemingly, she should be able to find some assistance within their campus ministries or within their counseling center.

I'm hoping to encourage her towards that end but right now she is not liking the guy who leads chapel. Do you know of a good church that is right near there?

I have good friends who attend Perimeter Church in Alpharetta, but that is about an hour away (maybe a little more). Perimeter is an awesome church, but may be too far. Check out www.perimeter.org.

It looks good but for a college student without a car, that won't work. Thanks though!

No, they wouldn't take me; at 6 feet 4 inches, they said I'm too tall for a shorter university. And there was me thinking "Shorter University" might equal "longer holidays" (sorry you Americans - vacations!)

I am the VP of Enrollment at Shorter and I saw this thread on my google alert. I joined Baptist Board today so I could respond to this. Please tell her she can call Dr. Head. I would be happy to talk to her or I can direct her to someone else.

If you want to learn more about Shorter, check out our email at www.shorter.edu.

Thank you so much John!! I just PMed her on the other board and I pmed you as well. I so appreciate you contacting me. It shows a lot of what the heart of Shorter is. :) We're up in NY and I don't think we've had any students from our church go to your college but I like the things I saw.

Again, thank you and pray that this girl would be able to come to know Christ since it really looks like she doesn't. I'm praying for her here. :)
