I have to agree with you. Great pitcher, great career, but not hall material.

Well he's definitely not first ballot. I think they need to tighten the mythical guidelines on getting into the HOF.

Give him time? To do what? What will he do in the next five years to make him more hall worthy than he is now? Ten years? 20 years? This first ballot stuff is a joke (No offense, Mets)

    More to come.....

And by the way, we never discussed this year's list of inductees. WE MUST!

Not much to discuss - I thought they were both deserving, although I am suspicious of Alomar and PEDs. The only thing that surprised me was Alomar getting over 90% of the vote - and only like 25 players have ever gotten over 90%. Alomar is definitely not among the top 25 players of all-time. Of course, that probably has more to do with the lack of other "slam-dunk" candidates on this year's ballot, which in turn shows the absurdity of some of the voters - it shouldn't matter who's on the ballot from year to year - your vote should not be fluctuating - a player is either worthy or not.

I have been an advocate of Blyleven. Not so much of Alomar.
    More to come..........

Pete Rose isn't on there for gambling. But gambling is a cakewalk compared to like, drugs and steriods. So it is a mixed bag as Petite a Christian himself. Has admitted to his wrongdoings and ONE of the few that has done so. Which you have to admire despite that.
But it is up the HOF as the verdict is still out and will be out for a long time.

At first glance, I can't see Pettite being worth a mention. I want to run the numbers to see where he ranks though.
