I have always wondered, when we are with the Lord in eternity, praising and worshipping Him, will we care about .............
    1. Although we will probably know the answer, will all the things we debate on this board such as creation, KJO, Calvinism, etc
    2. The roll of people who we knew on earth ie our relatives
    3. Heroes of faith in the Bible
    etc
    etc

or will we be so busy praising our Savior and God we will not really care.

Unless there are Scriptures any of the debaters here can produce that says the Lord will be assigning Electionists and DoG's and Calvinists the best mansions in heaven and Arminians and Semi-Pelagians and Pelagians, et al, the "projects" mansions, and vice-versa, well, I guess doctrines that divide God's children here in time, will remain here in time.

At that time it will not matter. Our focus will be on Him!

    According to the scriptures:
There will be no nature there. Since there is no nature there the only thing we will be focused on is Him.

I'm not sure I understand. At what point in your eschatology are you speaking of? When we die? After the resurrection after Judgement? When exactly do you mean? Also I agree our Focus will be on him in praise and pure worship. However, what does he care about? And will we care about those things he cares about? Will we participate in those things even as the angels participated with God by carrying out his will throughout our history. Some clarification is needed.

Wow! I"m seeing what Dr. Alcorn refers to as Christoplatonism on this thread big time! A lot of spiritual sounding answers, but diametrically opposed to Scripture!

People, we will not cease to be ourselves in Heaven, what the New Earth will be. The curse will be removed from us and all creation, but we will NOT be sitting on clouds saying "Praise God" repeatedly for eternity!

I would seriously recommend a biblical book on the matter called Heaven by Alcorn. It will remove the platonic leaning many believers have been raised on and heard in the pulpit growing up, which in essence denies much of Scripture

Next to the Bible, it is the single most powerful book I have read. It has completely changed my perception on what Heaven will be like and what it will be like being in God's presence. I would recommend every believer to read this at least once. I'm on my third time, and I get more excited about eternity each time I read it.

The strange thing is hardly anyone ever teaches or preaches on our eternal destiny. How many people if given their dream vacation paid in full would not want to read the itinerary cover to cover to see what is in store? The sad thing is, most believers do not look at the imagery given of our eternal destination found in Scripture, and try to spiritualize everything away like the first century church did, i.e., material is bad...immaterial is good.

Let me know what you think after you read it.

I still need clarification. I'm not sure of the original question.

I asked the original question without making a comment about how I felt. I did not mean the question to be so complex that we considered each step from death to final glorification. If you want a more specific question, I suppose it would be will we care about things like Calvinism, etc in our final state, spritual body and soul, our final form.

Points of division in doctrine? Of course not. We will be able to go right to the source :) We will be learning together and growing for all eternity. How cool it would be to attend a packed house conference where Paul is speaking about his intent when he wrote Romans?

Wow... The universe must be inverting. I'm with you (so far) on this issue...

I had a conversation with DHK via private message on this issue. He was of a mind that because Paul spoke and said that no eye has seen, etc... that we cannot know a think of eternity. That is SO wrong when the Scriptures, repeatedly, give us pictures of eternity, our participation therein, views of things like roads and commerce, nature (YES!) trees, water, light, time, people we know, relationships we built on earth, etc. There is much to know about eternity and it comes directly from God's revelation on the subject in almost every book of the Bible.

Know about, or care about... I doubt that we'll care about at all. We'll have a ton of other things to care about, all of them good. The one thing that we will care about that is bad are all the people we loved who may not be there with us. For that, God promises to dry our eyes!

I am of a mind that it is our deficient teaching on eternity that causes people to chose this life over God's true life to come. Sadly, so many do... Seems like they will do almost anything to avoid God's appointment time with eternity, as if they will have to forgo something from this life that they will never get to experience again in the true life to come. How weird that we would rather stay in this sin-cursed world than go forward into joy inexpressible! Only ignorance-blinded people would think such a thing...
