Fox reported this morning that Wisconsin Schools are required by law to teach labor law and unions prior to college. Do you think this should be required and is it appropriate?

They were teaching Socialism as a great system of government in OR schools in the 80's and that before they covered our own system of government - a little union stuff, why not in a near exclusively secular system :tonofbricks:

Socialism is an economic system, not a political one.

    AGREE!

I was in the kitchen department of a big box store with The Wife. I looked at a dozen or so products from old line American companies. Two were made in the US, Anchor and Corelle, dishes made by highly automated machines. Two were made in Vietnam, the rest in China.

If the business tax in the US was dropped to zero, which jobs paying over $15/ hour might return to the US? Over $15?

Probably the numerical control machine tool industry would pick up as the good patriotic "American" companies could then afford to build more factories in India and China.

    That's a real shame.

Indoctrination into union thuggery in place of a semester of classic literature or trigonometry. Wisconsin schools may be responsible for more than their share of the lower academic achievement levels of schools in general.

Socialists say this but when you investigate it what you find is that socialists want control of more than just the economy. And that is the larger goal. Clearly your statement is misleading at best.

Just because a subject is taught, say Socialiam, does not mean it is advocated by the school system. Using the opposite logic, as the OP seems to do, it would mean any preacher who taught anything about sin or the devil was advocating sin and the devil.

If it is taught as a larger body of history that would be true. But teaching the fundamental principles show intent.

If you gave a link in the OP it either does not show or work on my computer. So, I did a search and all I found was:

Teaching the history of organized labor and the collective bargaining process is quite different from teaching labor law. Also, if it is a fair presentation I see no problem in teaching history or law. A balanced presentation would be neutral leaving the student to decide which side of the issue them would come down on.

If we do not study and read about an issue we remain ignorant of the issue and thus cannot make intelligent decisions or form rational opinions about that issue.

George Santayana was IMHO correct when he said, "Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it."

If you have a link to more information on this I would appreciate receiving it.

In related news, Jefferey Dahmer will be teaching a cooking class.

(sheesh...who's running these train wrecks of school systems?)

It is taught by WEAC (Wisc teachers union) members, no doubt. I bet there's no bias there.
