Congressman Ron Paul, a member of the House Foreign Relations Committee and honorary chairman of Campaign for Liberty, criticized President Obama’s decision to impose a no-fly zone over Libya in a video shot earlier today.

In the video, Congressman Paul argues that:
    1. The action is an act of War.
    2. The no-fly zone is unconstitutional because Congress has not authorized it, a point Senate Foreign Relations Committee Ranking Member Richard Lugar agrees with.
    3. President Obama has illegally seceded U.S. sovereignty to the United Nations.
    4. The United States cannot afford the financial burden of more military action in the Middle East.

You don't really expect the corporate media to voice any real concerns about it's corporate owners and sponsors that stand to gain from this newest illegal action do you?

    Mums the word.

How much does it cost to fire one of those Tomahawk Cruise missiles into the air????

Wouildn't we come out better on the finiancial end of the spectrum by having a C-130 aircraft fly over the sectors spraying the area with thoes notoreous Gatling guns------------like they use to do in Vietnam---I think the nickname for those gunships was either "Puff the Magic Dragon" or "Spooky"

They're called Specters. I was in a C130 Gunship unit for 6 years (in an office). It takes them a while to get on scene, and they may not be able to perform in certain environments depending on the Air Defense System they're facing. But yes, if the logistics fall in place and in the right environment, they certainly are the most bang for the buck (quite literally) available. It was chiefly the 130's that destroyed the fleeing Iraqi Army between Kuwait and Iraq.

My buddies at work and I were just wondering the same thing. The last I knew it cost us something in the range of 60 - 70 thousand dollars for just one "dumb" bomb. The cost of a cruise missle must be several hundred thousand higher.

Imho it would be most cost effctive if we just went back to our original foreign policy of non intervention and stopped trying to build a world of compliant nation states subservient to the global bankers and corporations that have enslaved the western governments in the new international order.

The cost of wasted and ruin lives would also be reduced by millions. To me that's much more important than the cost of any weapons system.
