Didn't know if this was posted somewhere else or not.

Good for this United Methodist Church in North Carolina. :applause::applause::applause:

A few excerpts from the interview with the pastor

It's okay to disagree on where we're going to eat after church on Sunday, not this.

I don't understand this statement, did he get voted off Survivor Island?

Typical liberal talk, translation = the people attending my church are ignorant hicks, who haven't been to years of seminary like me, and aren't able to understand what the Bible says.

Okay, I know none of us have it all completely figured out, but he seems a bit wishy washy to me. Should have figured this stuff out before he became a Pastor, IMO.

Hmmm.....Interesting... Veerrry Interesting.... (In Col. Klink Voice From Hogans Heroes)

    What is it?

Hmm...sounds like apostacy to me. Kudos to the church for weeding it out before it had a chance to spread.

Thousand Hills - I LOVE your comments. LOL

Sounds like this man was a typical Methodist preacher like we have here on Long Island. My ILs went to a Methodist church and the pastor said he doesn't like to talk about the blood because it's just so negative. HUH?? They didn't like any negative talk - just happy, lovey dovey stuff. SHUDDER

But good for that church! I'm proud of them!

There is more to this story than the pastor's support of the Bell book. I served in the UMC for over 13 years. UMC pastors do not get removed just because of doctrinal differences rather they are embraced for their so-called diversity of thought.

In my former conference, he would have been given a larger church and a salary increase.

    Me too.

I live in a small town, but we do have a big ultra liberal mainline denom church here. Pro gay, pro baby extermination, pro "all paths lead to God", ULTRA liberal..etc etc etc. They have regular "joint services" with the Catholic cult.

    God have mercy.

Exposing heresy and condemning those who try to defend heresy is part of the role of churches banding together (in associations or denominations). They can advise a local congregation on time to ordain and time to remove such wolves (heretics) or novices (those falling prey to heretics)

I hate the doctrine of Hell and wish it were not true, but how can you escape all the references to it in the Bible? It's hard, but I must accept the truth of God's Word even when in my finite mind I hate one of it's precepts. I trust God that some day I will understand how He sees Hell and the Lake of Fire, until then may God instill in me an urgency to communicate Jesus Love and Forgiveness to those I come in contact with each day!

Hahahaha! this was my favorite!...Yeah its a shame that so many "feel good" churches are rising..God did make the bible to make us "feel good"..its good to see that at least someone out there (whoever fired the pastor) still cares about truth
