Are there any officially espousing Documentary theory for Genesis, Myth in Creation story, basically that the Bible is sound to teach doctrines from, but is fallible in regards to historical data, scientific aspects, and that the authors were NOT traditional ones held to in past?

Regarding the Southern Baptist seminaries, I don't think so. Alums of those seminaries have a better handle on that, but I'm pretty sure that if those things were being taught, we'd already know about it.

While you're at it, define "biblical theology" for us too. Do you understand what it means in regards to its step between exegetical and systematic theology?

What is all this "please define" business? Jesusfan provided three teachings to establish what He was talking about, defining if you will how he was using the term.

(1)The Documentary Theory of Genesis. This is the theory that four different documents were used to put Genesis together based primarily on differing names of God.

    (2) Myth in Creation Story. This is the view that the creation account of Genesis 1 and 2 are largely myth and not actually consistent with truth.

    (3) The Bible is not reliable in its account of historical events, nor as a basis for understanding how our universe came to be.

I cannot address the scope of the penetration of "liberal theology" thus defined into Baptist gatherings, but I can sure say none of those views are given any credence in the local churches and retreat camps I have attended.

Basically, deniel of the basic Evangelical tenants held by the Baptists...
Denying the Bible IS Infallible/Inerrant, saying that it conatins errors in the text... basically Bible is OK for doctrine teaching, but has errors on history and scientific facts in it...
Also buy into modern view that Gospel writers were NOT those named on Books, that they was so much re editing thru time that cannot know for sure who wrote any book in it really...
Denying Jesus is ONLY means/way to God..
Start believing in things like Universalism for example...

Basically, trying to "fit" the Bible and the faith into modern times, almost like we need to accomodate bible to culture, not other way around

Please correct me if wrong, but believe that Biblical Theology refers to getting "big picture" to get the prominent themes in Bible, such as Covenant/promise/Election etc to get overall Bible view on them
While Systematic refers to "breaking" down the prominent themes in specific doctrines, looking at individual books and authors reference to them...
