    SOURCE

Ah, yes...the peaceful, level-headed world of unions.

Oh well. At least it gives people with anger management issues somewhere to belong.

By the way: You won't see this reported anywhere. It's not "newsworthy."

(at least that's what the Goverment Goons Union tells me)

Your tune will change when unemployment stays over 15% and your teenagers must work to buy food for your family.

Yes, that will certainly justify killing thousands of Republicans.

Lincoln killed 600,000 Americans in HIS revolution.

The guy speaking in the video reminds me of Fat Tony from the Simpsons.

Seriously, this is another in a long list of examples of Lefty civility. If a Conservative, Republican, or Tea Party member was caught on tape spewing this kind of garbage there'd be no end to the indignation heaped upon them.

Make sense, man. It was the southern states that revolted, not Lincoln.

Lincoln could have let the southern sovereign nations depart in peace.

Yes, he could have done that, but it would have set a precedent. Ultimately, the domestic stability of the United States would have been at risk.

Sounds like the revolution was in the south.

Incorrect, the CSA only did what the union had done some 4 score and 7 years previously....

You are correct, if it is viewed as being part of England, which it was. I was thinking post-1776 era when the US was autonomous and had it's own constitution.

    Arbo admits boo-boo.

Actually pre-War Between The States - Individuals thought of themselves as citizens of their State or Commonwealth - no so much as Americans - that changed after the War of the Northern Aggresion ended in 1865

In a sense, we are both correct - if the CSA had been allowed (state-by-state) to leave without dissent, then after that any State could leave for whatever reason (you know, kinda like Baptist church members) To the state or Commonwealth in question, the reason might seem very important - but to the rest of the country it might seem very trivial. Independence is in the eye of the beholder.

Lets add a bit to this - suppose New Mexico wanted to become a State of the Country of Mexico - what might happen?

Not only did he promise that it wouldn't go over eight, he said that the Republicans would cause it to go past nine and destroy the country.

Many people, such as Robert E. Lee, felt that Lincoln and the Union were the first to break ties by so badly abusing the states' sovereignty and 10th Amendment rights through Unconstitutional laws and policies.

The Constitution is not a suicide pact. Any state should be free to leave.

I disagree. Besides, it was settled long ago.

The CSA had no interest in changing the form of government in the North thus the CSA did NOT start a revolution. Lincoln's War did change the form of government in the north and the South thus it was a revolution.

It was an invasion. Revolutions are internal.

    Absolutely!!

Also, it was not a CIVIL war. A civil war is two factions competing for control of the same government.

Such was not the case here. The CSA simply wanted to become independent of the feds, hence the move by the north (aka Lincoln's War of Northern Aggression), was invasion, pure & simple.
