    Question:

    Does God have a singular people?

    Or;

    Does God have "two peoples?"

    This should engender some good Dispensational discussions?

    Let me hear from you.

    "That is all!" :laugh:

    God's called out Nation of people on earth is Israel Exodus 6:

    6Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

    7And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

    8And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD.

    They are still His chosen nation and God still has a plan for them.

    Then we as believers are a chosen generation
    1 Peter 2: 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

    10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy

    A Holy nation (not the USA), Paul says this in 2 Corinthians 5:20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

    Our's is not an earthly Nation but a spiritual one. Made up of peculiar people because we were called by the Holy Spirit out of darkness into light.

    Earthly Nation of Israel charged with spreading the Gospel of the coming saviour. Failed miserably and ended up rejecting Him in his first advent. Spiritual people made up of all nationalities. A people set apart to spread the gospel to a lost and dieing world as Ambassadors for the Heavenly nation. Israel will eventually receive Jesus as their Messiah and the earthly Kingdom will be set up with Christ ruling over all nations. All is because of God's Grace and Salvation comes to all by Grace through Faith. The most important thing we must keep in mind is we as the Ambassadors of the Spiritual Nation must spread the Gospel to the WHOLE World.

    Eph.2:14+ "For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one, and brokedown the barrier of the dividing wall, (15) by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, establishing peace, (16)and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross...."

    There is only one people of God. The two groups have been made "one". Both Jew and Gentile have been made "into one new man" and "reconciled...in one body to God through the cross".

    That is definitive for me.

    For there to be separate people (Jew and Gentile/church) the work Jesus did on the cross would have to be undone. The Law must be reestablished. The reconciliation must be undone. The peace must be undone. The "making" into "one new man" must be undone. The work of Jesus on the cross must be undone.

    Heaven forbid!!

    peace to you:praying:

    The last part of the title says groups. To me that means as in the O.T. you had Jew and Gentile. As in the current time their are two groups also, saved and lost. God still has plans for his earthly people the Jews, He has a plan for the church also. I believe that is what the root of the question is. Maybe I missed the gist of the question.

    There are in this time three types of mankind in our age. Walking in the Spirit, Carnal beleivers and thsoe walking in the flesh and not saved. I have already been throguh that issue in another post.
