I went onto Facebook tonight and saw this on a page that I "liked".

"I see you strong and whole. I see you blessed and prospered. I see you courageous and confident. I see you capable and successful. I see you free from all limitations or bondage of any kind. I see you as the spiritually perfect being you truly are. Now see yourself this way, in truth."

There are tons of women who are now posting "I claim this truth!" or "I see it and accept it!" "Receive it in Jesus' mighty name!"

What would be the Scriptural support for this as posted? Does it sound like "name it and claim it"? What say you?

Sounds like something from the Church of Oprah.

There is no dought that there is indeed a *legtimate* problem regarding low self esteem that some people struggle with. (And also a problem with TOO HIGH self esteem as well.)

However, what I saw in Anns 1st post smacks of the "Name/Claim it/God wants you rich" teachings that are out there...

Copeland, Savelle, Hagin, Capps, Osteen, etc.

Sounds like "name it/claim it" to me.

I "unliked" the page. It wasn't worth it if that is their belief.

Annsni, that "prayer" is found over and over on Unity websites.

Wow. I had all but forgotten about the Unity bunch. Havent heard anything about them since probably the 80's/early 90's, when there was that big push, by some, promoting the oncomming "New Age" movement.

Here is what Unity is all about...

    Satanic for sure

    Yikes!!

I just went to the Unity website, just to scope out what they are up to.

    I couldnt believe it....

They put out those monthly "Daily Word" magazines that you see all over the place. I see 'em everywhere. On tables in waiting rooms of Hospitals, nursing homes, offices, etc.

    Goodness.

I thought those were distributed by a legitimate group like "Radio Bible Class", or the Lutheran church, etc...

My grandmother used to get those. Looked like just another Christian devotional, just like "Daily Bread". So I'm sure a lot of other less informed Christians used to get it as well.

Then, When I first saw the Spirit of Truth and Spirit of Error pamphlet, and various cult books with chapters on Unity (which at first made me surprised), and saw the quotes of their beliefs, I was like "what...?!". I couldn't believe that the organization behind those devotionals at my grandmother's taught all that stuff that they do. They're basically eclectic (sort of like Bahaiism), not Christian.
